My trip to Georgia

I am spending a part of my vacation in Georgia now and I'd like to tell you a little about this country. Georgia is a small country situated on the Eastern shore of the Black Sea. Most of its territory lies in the Caucasus Mountains. It is a very ancient country that existed many centuries B.C. at the times of Jason, legendary Greek hero from Iolk. There is his monument in Poty, a very nice sea port and a great place for rest (the picture on the right). Georgia was well known by ancient Greeks and other ancient nations. Those times it was called Colchis. It was well developed when on the territory of Ukraine, my country, lived wild tribes, when Russia or many other European countries didn't exist at all.Its culture is century rooted and unique. Its people are smart, freedom loving, democratic, very hospitable and friendly, with bright sence of humor. They know how to work and how to make money. But on the other hand, they know how to relax and have a nice rest. It is a very singing nation. Almost everyone sings like a professional. Their national songs sound like echo in the mountains and tell about their feelings to their land and to people. Their dances are so stirring and tell much about their national character, that is inflamatory and cheerful. On the left you can see Sukhoshvili dansing group that has been famous throughout the world for more than 60 years. On the right is a couple in the ceremonial national costumes. You can't often see people wearing them, only if they want to have a traditional wedding or something like that. In the everyday life Georgians wear European clothes.Georgians are Chrstian. They belong to so called Georgian Orthodox church. It is different from Russian one. But it makes sense for Georgian culture is a combination of European and Asian ones. Their churches look like some ancient little castles. You can see one of them on the left. The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi. It is located in the mountain valley and surronded with the high green mountains. So, mornings are very misty .The Kura river in the center of the city is narrow but it gets waterfull and very fast in spring. It is so shallow, that water can hardly reach your waiste. But never try to cross it if you are not ready to commit a self suiside! In downtown are a lot of old buildings of 18th-19th centuries that are kept in perfect state. It is very unique Georgian hand curved wooden architecture. In fact, such buildings are very modern inside, equipped and furnished up to date (left). One of the inordinary places in Tbilisi are Sulfury bathhouses that are very popular and good for health. Now they are mostly Clubs for those who like Asian exotics and stomac dances (right).Well, to make a long story short, Georgia is one of the most beautiful, civilized, friendly countries in the East I've ever visited. I have known it and have been communicating with its people for many years. It is a country of great impressions, unforgettable emotions, true friends, great history full of ancient legends, perfect natural wine that flows in rivers, heaps of delicious spicy food and modern service at the highest European standards. If you ever decide to get to this region, you will be delighted. Now, it is becoming one of the most popular European resorts. The port city, Poty, on the left is the place where Jason stole the Golden Fleece with the help of Medea. It is so old that it is not known when it was founded. It is my favorite place to rest together with Gagra. There is so called waterfall of lovers in New Afon, Gagra (right). I saw something like that on Jamaica and traditions are the same. If a man carries his woman into its waters and kisses her there and she replies , they will be happy for long. May you all be happy, loved and well secured to see this world in all its variety! Good luck and have nice summer rest!
