My Travel Blog With The Pictures

It was almost unbelievable as for some events and health issues of my kids that this year we would go for holiday but luckily we got opportunity to spend one week in the Czech mountatins called Vysočina, ehm try to read it as: Vysotchina, which I would translate into English like "The Czech Higlands". This area is situated right in the middle of my Czechia and it is full of fresh beautiful forests, lots of berries, ponds, forgotten castles and relaxing atmoshpere.

Just imagine you wake up in the morning, open the window and feel the fresh air coming from the forest as your hotel is so close to it. I felt as if I slept in a tent – just now I am older and spoiled to do it :D Anyway, to enjoy the nature is the best gift for me and do believe me I enjoyed it a lot.

Every day after breakfast, which the owner of the hotel prepared for us we set off for our adventures. We walked a lot and I was surprised my four years old daughter was able to walk 10 kilometers and then was even able to run and jump, whereas I felt like 80 years old retired granny! My kids will never stop surprising me…

One of our journies was heading to the place which was called The End of The World. You know it is funny to walk in the forest and just all of a sudden to see in the middle of nowhere a statue of the Mamooth! Our country is cool as you can see and our artists too. However, the kids were so excited to see something else – End of the World what was their disappointment when we reached the place and there was just some figurine of the old man in the shelter :D In fact – it was a place where used to be the border between Bohemia and Moravia – two main regions of my country and logically the soldiar is still protecting it there...

Then we visited many castles but one of them impressed me a lot. This castle was called Lipnice and I can assure you that you could smell the history around each corner. We got some brochures as we went there to explore it and these were full of interesitng facts. Just imagine that beyond one wall was burried a wife of one king as she was cheating on him. Another fact, hard to believe if it is true or fake is that there is a legend telling us that the ghosts of some young girls who died in the castle as one of the owners kidnapped them, brought them to the castle and then was having fun with them against their will and was raping them there …. yeah… these girls are still present in some parts of the castle... the middle age era wasn't funny at all, right?

As we were with the kids, we had to find some entertainment for them and good choice was the Western City. Have you ever seen anything like this? The old wooden houses giving impression as if you were walking the street of the Wild West. You could see there everything, starting from the bank – where you exchanged money for their special money, the church, the house of the cherif and even … the cemetery! The programme with the final exhibition was really awesome! The actors and the actresses playing in the historical old costumes, the gangsters riding the horses and shooting like insane. Cool, right?

Well… I don't want to bother you with other trips and activities we enjoyed, you can check the photogallery to see more… just I was really so happy that we finally after all the problems we faced, we got time to have fun and enjoy it all together!
