there is lots of fun in learning new languages , Specially English has a lot of fun and experience for me , I have learned my English not from any school nor language institute , I have learned it just through interacting with other English learner by Skype and other Stuff , During my learning journey i met very nice people from different country and culture who has same aim like me , in my opinion there is no specific path and method to learn new language except your own style therefore i decided to share my own may help you and show a brighter path of language learning , if i separate language in to two part it will be 1-knowledge (Vocabulary and Grammar) and 2-Skills (Reading,Writing+Listening,Speaking)
in the learning journey mostly we focus on increasing our knowledge of language by learning new vocabulary and grammar rules which although most of school and institute work on it,And then don't give attention to the skill part that's why most of us understand English but cant speak or write due to lack of practice which build our skills , I think while learning we should care balance between knowledge and skill for example your knowledge is advance but skill is weak , there is very beautiful connection between knowledge and Skill i think at first we should work our knowledge and skill together and don't need to focus too much on knowledge.
let me tell you my INPUT-OUTPUT rule which is my creation that have a nice balance between these two part ,
I this rule we have two input and two out puts , with your purpose of learning which can be for an exam , IELTS /TOEFL , Business English , Travel or ... to approach your specific goal in subject topic you should put similar material to build good skill in out put
Our inputs are 1-Reading 2-Listening and our outputs are 1-Writing 2-Speaking
These inputs -outputs are related together , If you want to Improve your speaking then you have to Listen a lot if you want to be a good write then read a lot,Mean
- Listening+Read aloud about that specific topic+Practice ----> Then you can speak about that topic
- Reading+Listen+Practice ----->Then you can write about that topic
