Here is my attempt and my lexical sets focused on travel to foreign countries

 I grew up in former East Germany (GDR). I think, many people around the world know a little about the history of Germany, especially about the both states GDR ( German Democratic Republic) and FRG (Federal Republic of Germany).
During the years of the existence of divided Germany it wasn't allowed for citizens of GDR to travel where ever they wanted. So we had the permisson to visit only socialistic countries, to Poland, the former Czechoslovakia, USSR, Romania, Hungaria... for example.  
After the fall of the wall between the both German countries was it possible to travel around the world.
So I did. My first trip took me to Austria. It was very exciting and I enjoyed this trip.
My second journey took me to Tunisia. It was very interesting to experience a very different culture and society. In the first years I traveled with my husband, later we traveled with friends and we met many people from different countries, learned much about others and even about ourselves. Traveling is a very good opportunity to understand the differences but also the commonalities between people from different countries with different habits, traditions and life attitudes. We visited Egypt twice, the Dominican Republic twice, Cyprus, Crete ( island of Greece ), Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria ( islands of Spain ), Morocco, Bali ( Indonesia ), Thailand, Sri Lanka twice, Italy several times. Last year ( 2016 ) I visited India and 2017 I'm going to visit Thailand the second time. Traveling is very exciting and forming. It develops our mind and we see the world around us with open eyes and open heart. We are able to fight with good arguments when we discuss with "stupid" people which are full of prejudices.

    So you know, what communism was and experienced it! Maybe that's why we have the same sense of humour etc. :D I am really impressed by your traveling experiences and woow almost all the countries you have visited are on my to do list... haha ok apart from Crete and Italy as I have already been there and guess m not dying to visit nowadays Tunesia or Turkey... anyway..Australia, Thailand or Dominicana ...woow!! Thanx for such interesting post ;)
