I have some music on my page and I am transcribing the words here.If you were interested in any of the songs you can play them and read along here.>>See The Sky About To Rain--- by Neil YoungSee the sky about to rain, broken clouds and rain.Locomotive, pull the train, whistle blowing through my brain.Signals curling on an open plain, rolling down the track again.See the sky about to rain. Some are bound to happiness, some are bound to glorySome are bound to live with less, who can tell your story?See the sky about to rain, broken clouds and rain.Locomotive, pull the train, whistle blowing through my brain.Signals curling on an open plain, rolling down the track again.See the sky about to rain.I was down in Dixie land, played a silver fiddlePlayed it loud and then the man broke it down the middle.See the sky about to rain.> OTHER LYRICS ARE POSTED BELOW IN COMMENTS... THE MUSIC PLAYER HAS BEEN MOVED BACK TO MY HOME PAGE TO PREVENT MORE THAN ONE PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME
Another song from my page that I posted because he sings fairly slowly usually and often acoustical music which may be easier to understand. These may not always make sense to read, but that is the song as it was written.
Comes A Time --- also by Neil Young
Comes a time when you're drifting Comes a time when you settle down Comes a light feelings lifting Lift that baby right up off the ground.
Oh, this old world keeps spinning round It's a wonder tall trees ain't laying down There comes a time.
You and I we were captured We took our souls and we flew away We were right we were giving That's how we kept what we gave away.
Oh, this old world keeps spinning round It's a wonder tall trees ain't laying down There comes a time.
Here's another one. It is not a happy song which tends to be the case for much "country music". Someone drinks too much or runs around on their spouse. American country music. You can follow it on my player.
..
I've been thinkin' about the way you've been doin' me, now for a long long time.
When a woman acts the way you do, somewhere ya have to draw the line.
Empty liquor bottles, and crowded bar rooms, seem to be your home.
Now that I know the way you feel for me, I guess it's time for me to move on.
I have tried, everything I know, with you to try and see my way.
But now I'm tired of being made a fool, I beleive it's time I had my say.
Empty liquor bottles and crowded bar rooms, seems to be your home.
Now that I know the way you feel for me, I guess it's time for me to move on.
Goodbye woman, I'm leavin' you, so long heart ache, so long.
I hope you're happy somewhere down lover's lane, see you later I'm gone.
Goodbye woman, I'm leavin' you, see you later I'm gone.
Can you tell which of the songs these lyrics go to?
It's a lonesome road
And a hard way to live
But it's the only life that I know
I meet some people, I traveled around
But home's always the best place to go
It's a lonesome feeling in my mind
A feeling that I can't leave behind
Carolina's where I'm at, and
I'll always hang my hat
Under those Blue Ridge Mountain skies
I got me a woman back home
She gave me a baby, too
And she stands by my loving side and
Does anything I ask her to
It's a lonesome feeling in my mind
A feeling I can't seem to leave behind
Carolina's where I'm at, and
I'll always hang my hat
Under those Blue Ridge Mountain skies
There's an old man, sittin' in a rockin' chair
He's got the best beagle dog in the county I've been told
But his shotgun done got too rusty
That 'ole beagle dog he done grown a little too old
As he stares up into heaven, I'm sure I know the reason why
He's thinking about that promised land in them Blue Ridge Mountain skies
It's a lonesome feeling in my mind
A feeling I can't seem to leave behind
Carolina's where I'm at, and
I'll always hang my hat
Under those Blue Ridge Mountain skies

>
Know you got to run
Know you got to hide
Still there is a great life
Engrained deep within your eyes
Open up, open up
Baby let me in
You expect for me to love you
When you hate yourself my friend la la la ...
Everybody I love you
Everybody I do
(oh yeah)
Though your heart is in anger
I need your love to get through
(oh yea, I really do now)
HELPLESSLY HOPING by Stephen Stills, performed BY Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Helplessly hoping
Her harlequin hovers nearby
Awaiting a word
Gasping at glimpses
Of gentle true spirit
He runs, wishing he could fly
Only to trip at the sound of good-bye
Wordlessly watching
He waits by the window
And wonders
At the empty place inside
Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams
He worries
Did he hear a good-bye? Or even hello?
They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are four for each other
Stand by the stairway
You'll see something
Certain to tell you confusion has its cost
Love isn't lying
It's loose in a lady who lingers
Saying she is lost
And choking on hello
They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are four for each other
Cinnamon Girl is pretty much a classic of his, again very early in his career. He is still alive and writing music these many decades later.
Did lots of anti-war and other protest songs. He temporarily identified with Ronald Reagan and the conservative Republican party for a while when the US was going through rough times in 1980's.
He is mostly liberal in his topics today and had an album LIVING WITH WAR to protest the war in Iraq and the George Bush administration. Funny being in your 60's and still finding the voice to protest against things you don't like. this is not a political site and I only bring this up in case you research Neil Young and find other songs much different than the ones I have added.
CINNAMON GIRL---BY NEIL YOUNG
I wanna live
with a cinnamon girl
I could be happy
the rest of my life
With a cinnamon girl.
A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.
Ten silver saxes,
a bass with a bow
The drummer relaxes
and waits between shows
For his cinnamon girl.
A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.
Pa sent me money now
I'm gonna make it somehow
I need another chance
You see your baby loves to dance
Yeah...yeah...yeah.

See if you can guess which of the songs are considered "Country Music".

There's a world you're living in
No one else has your part
All God's children in the wind
Take it in and blow hard.
Look around it, have you found it
Walking down the avenue?
See what it brings,
could be good things
in the air for you.
We are leaving. We are gone.
Come with us to all alone.
Never worry. Never moan.
We will leave you all alone.
In the mountains, in the cities,
you can see the dream.
Look around you. Has it found you?
Is it what it seems?
There's a world you're living in
No one else has your part
All God's children in the wind
Take it in and blow hard.
