Love

Love, what is the secret that lies behind that word? I always try to avoid talking or even mentioning it. Of course, the subject needs more than a blog to write about. Naturally, we have to include the general concept of the word.  It is a feeling of liking someone or something very much.  They say that love is a feeling of deep regard, devotion, and fondness. A strong feeling of affection, attraction, and eagerness, you name it, a strong desire to be with someone, and share feelings. I tried it two or three times quite a few years back, and I was hit in the tank, as they say.  The experience was very hard for me. The question, why was it so important or necessary for us? Can we live without it? Here, I am speaking generally about love. The love of money, my mother and my work, etc.

The answer is very simple.  We need it badly. Most crimes in the world happened because of it. Many sacrifices were done because of it. No need to mention the man who killed another man because he took his love from him, or the young man who committed suicide because his girl married another one. The list is very long. Again, the question, why is it so necessary for us? Of course, we cannot use hate as a substitute, can we?

Some people say that the love of the country is from the love of the woman. I wonder if that supposition is true or no! We have heard about one of the kings of France who gave up the throne for the woman he loved. The first time I fell in love, I tried to resist it. I used to swim against the stream but it was indeed very painful and difficult. The current was very strong. I was weak. The second time, I convinced myself that I had to surrender.  I need you guys to write about love. Someone will definitely come out with the big article. It's a challenge, let's do it.

  • Como estas mi amigo Gerardo? Tu mii golpiastei. You beat me Munoz. Thanks for your nice advice. I will try to read that book, but may I add something? Look at the matter from a different angle, that particular attitude could take another perspective. I really respect your point of view. Thanks Gerardo!

  • Hello my dear friend, I hope you are fine, first of all thanks for sharing your blog.

As you said it´s not an easy issue, but in this time I have to say I don´t agree with some of your thougts. You wrote "Most crimes of the world happened because of it. Many sacrifices were done because of it", and I just think: are you serious?? I´m not an expert (as you mentioned this morning, LOL), I don´t even know what love is (if somebody knows please share this knowledge), but I´m sure LOVE has not to do with violence, selfishness, possession, pain, "love can conquer all", "fighting means you have passion"...

I was young, I thought I was in love, I did many stupid things in name of love, LOL. I started to read about love and I realized I was wrong, maybe because movies and romantic myths distort true love. One advice: stop reading "fairy tales" and start to read about the mistery of love... I´ve read two books about this, "The art of loving" by Erich Fromm and "Love or dependency" by Walter Risso. I recommend you both of them, especially the first one.

"Love is not something natural. Rather it requires discipline, concentration, patience, faith, and the overcoming of narcissism. It isn't a feeling, it is a practice." Erich Fromm, The art of loving.

Thanks for your time my friend, I hope see you soon, take care.

  • Khaili mamnoon Darius! Thanks for your nice story about Narcissus. It gave a lot of momentum to the blog. By the way, where have you been my friend? Thanks for your comment and that nice story which you have provided.

  • Thank you Dara !

Another fantastic blog of yours . A very nice choice and title .

Each time when I think of love it reminds me the story of Narcissus .

    Death of Narcissus

When Narcissus died all the flowers in the garden exhibited great grief at his death.

"Why are you so sad" the pool asked

"Because of missing beautiful Narcissus" the flowers answered

"Was he beautiful?" The pool asked

"What??" Flowers responded surprisingly "Aren't you whom every morning Narcissus bent on to look at his beauty"

The poll hesitated and said "Every morning as Narcissus bent on me to see his beauty that was me who was looking at my beauty in his eyes"

    ...

We fell ourselves in love to be able to find the reality of ours . To see the reflection of our heart on the shiny polished surface of a beloved one .

Thank you for such nice blog .

  • Sain uu Munkh, I will be beside you and together we can say, love one another and be brothers. This will avoid us many problems. Thanks Munkh for your nice call.

  • I want to say LOVE will save the world instead of word 'beauty will save the world'.

  • Main ihsas mei kanam khajalti. Khaili mamnoon brai kal. Thanks for the beautiful flowers. It means that you love me very much. May Allah love you and bless you Mohammed. I think, most of the members will like those flowers.

  • Bahut merbani Arif Saeed janab! I told my ladies, Shaila, JET, Shoba, Juan Ramos and many others that I could not give the subject its full view. You see, and here I quote from you, if force and compulsion involve in its affairs, love will fade away. For the second time, you provide us with beautiful tips Mr. Saeed. Thank you very much.

  • Bahut bahut shukriya Sach Agrawal! I have just been telling Serene that people like you will provide us with many definitions of that mysterious subject as you called it. Your way of describing is fascinating, Honestly, I liked it very much and it shows that you are a man of delicate feelings. Thanks for that nice briefing Sach.
