she was lying down on bed beside him. She was not able to sleep neither he. She hugged the pillow tightly and asked him, "Do you wanna listen to a story?" He looked into her eyes and moved closely to her and said "Yes".
She starts " Once upon a time, there was a girl. umm.. Her name was Leonara. She was not like other fairy tales' girls. She was not beautiful, she didn't have long hair, good figure. She was not as fair as snow white. She was neither rich nor poor. She was kind, naive, stubborn, funny, clumsy. She was an average girl like me.
She was surrounded by many people, her family, friends, colleagues, strangers but she was empty at heart. She was in quest of real love, and she decided to find a love. She tried to use different tools for communication, she got few guys but still she was not able to find the real love. She got fail many times. finally, she stopped
She believed that search of love is really a big deal. she asked herself , "Why I'm searching love? Love is just a feeling which is inside me. We can find a love in different ways. Some people find there love in freedom, and some in care, some believes love is sacrifice. Some people search their love in happiness of others. some people need attention in love."
"I'm in search of someone who will feel my love and my love will feel his love."
Then she goes with the flow. One day, One guy comes in her life. He accepts her as she is.. He gives her love, respect and freedom. He cares her a lot.They enjoy life together. Then one day, the day was valentine day, he comes and says, " You are not just a girl for me. You have become my soul. You are my life, you are my love. I can not imagine myself without you. I love you.. Will you marry me?
Of course, her heart felt the love and she says, "Yes, I love you"
Then they got married happily.
Every girl is in the quest of real love. What love is they don't know exactly but we feel it by our heart and we can not explain those feelings. Like other fairy tales, she was not waiting for a prince, she was in waiting of true love.
The guy was listening to the story carefully. After finishing the story he leaned forward and kissed her. He said , " you are my princess."

You started the story in the past tense. The rest of your story should be in the past tense also to be consistent in grammar.
