My friends! We are leaving for winter vacation to Europe at last! I can't wait to see some snow and to feel at least some frost, to play snowballs and to make a snowman! I hope, this year it will not be as dirty and miserable as it was as last year!

Well, I hope, you will go on playing our games  keeping their tracks for us not to be shocked with the amount of work we will have to do on our coming back! Hahaha! I hope, that somebody agrees to keep the record of our games.

Besides, I'd like to give you a "home assignment". Hahaha! Whlile we are away, try to write very nice, kind, meaningful fairy tales with the happy end (the word limin is 300 words). New Year season is a time of miraclces! It will be so great if you use some folklore in your tales. Anyway, your stories must be magic! To inspire you a little, I am posting a few pictures.

And now, let me wish you all  to have great holidays and all the best in the upcoming 2017!

  • Thanks that you encourage me to go on with learning English, dear Danny.

We had snow here in my city over New Year Eve and the first days of the new year. Today the snow was disappeared when I woke up. But the weatherforcast says, we get snow again in the next days and it's going to be very cold. We expect temperatures about -15 degree celsius ... more or less. Now it means to wear warm clothes.

I wish you and Tanya still some relaxing days in Kiev.

  • Dear Rose! There are still many mistakes, but I don't want to spoil your good mood correcting them!

    MY BIG SMILE!!!!!

  • Dear Danny, I was very disappointed about my bad work on my first winter fairy tale. I had sooooo many mistakes. I wrote now a new fairy tale and I hope I made it better.

  • Dear Rose! You are 100% right. I don't want to feel an odd man out while they speak about their childhood, youth, their former work and common researches although the guys speak rather good English. I am not jealous at all and would like her to feel free, otherwise she will certainly leave me alone. But I do know that Sergey, her ex, was the only one man she truly loved.  He got married long ago and has two kids from another woman, but I am sure they still love each other and I don't want to bother. We should respect feelings of those who are close and dear not to lose them forever.

Well, most of my baggage is my Christmas/New Year/ Tanya's birthday gifts! I have brought them from the US not to have any problems buying them here! Thanks for reminding me of the tree! I'd like to decorate it this year myself! I think I will do it tomorrow! What a great idea! At least, I will have something to do!

We are expecting snow in Kiev, but at the "plus" temperature. Yes, we should engoy the weather we have.

    Have  great holidays!

  • Hi dear Danny, I can understand you when you don't like to spend a day with the ex of your wife. Even if we can be sure that it doesn't have any meanings anymore in terms of romantic feelings, so is it still a little weird when we see them together. I think you do right to stay away from the meeting. And also with her friends. Even if they are friendly, so you haven't common memories and experiences from the "old days" and so you feel displaced very quickly.

We also hope still that it will snow but until now the weather forecast doesn't see any chance. Only in the high mountains they will be lucky.

Hahaha, you guessed correctly, I am ready for Christmas. The gifts are packed, the food bought, my menu is planned. Only the Christmas tree isn't decorated yet. We will do it tomorrow. Now Christmas can come and all my guests, too.

Have still a great time and my best greetings to Tanya, too.

  • Hi, dear Rose! Sure, she is really happy to come here again although we spent almost two months in Ukraine in the summer and it was great as we were in the Carpathians for long. She will have a great vacation, no doubt. Today she has gone to see her ex and his brother as they are her childhood friends, they trained swimming, studied at school and the university, then worked all together. Sure, I was also invited, but I refused as I am not in the mood to spend a day with a man truely loved by my wife and whose feeling was mutual. He is a good guy, I do know him in person, but not today.

Unfortunately, the weather doesn't gladden, either. But there was some frost in the morning. We all hope for snowy New Year.

I will read your tale and when I start the challenge, I will be happy to see your story there.

Thanks for your warm words and wishes. I believe, you are ready for Christams Eve!

  • Dear Danny, I am so sorry for you and Tanya. The weather isn't to control, we always have to live with the actual conditions. But I think you will have nice and relaxing vacation days dispite the weather. Sure is it always exciting for your wife to visit her hometown again. There are her roots and I think also many relatives too. To see them when ever she wants isn't so easy because of the distance between the Ukrain and the US. It's isn't just around the corner.
I wish you both a great time.

About the Fairy tale, I have written it but it doesn'f fit in your conditions ( the limit of 300 words ). So I have posted it on my blog.
