Las Vegas

The United States is dealing again a horrible shooting incident that occurred yesterday in a country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. You’ve probably heard this terrible news already. It’s been all over the news worldwide. As I write this short blog, the latest death toll has risen to 59 with more than 500 injured. It is the deadliest mass shooting in the US history according to reports.

Though the authorities reported this incident as a random shooting crime committed by a lone wolf, it clearly becomes common news around the globe. Haven't you noticed? Some people speculate that every reported news related to mass shootings is always connected with terrorism and suspects another religion or race behind it. The authorities said this isn’t related to terrorism. But it’s difficult to think of this incident not as a terrorist act just because the perpetrator was a white American senior citizen.

Nevertheless, why is it so easy for someone to buy guns and ammunition in Nevada and other states? One thing is certain that this incident would keep happening again (I really pray it won’t ever happen) until there’s a concrete measure in gun control and proper education.

Let’s keep praying that everyone should be enlightened or responsible enough, and that this event really serves as a lesson, a real eye opener. Everyone can be a victim and we certainly don’t want another bloodbath. I truly and honestly believe that all lives matter! #prayforLasVegas #bevigilant

Do you think guns and ammunition should be banned in your country if the government cannot strictly control or regulate these deadly weapons? Share your thoughts below.

  • Hello, Eva!

Thank you for the information you shared. Yes, I heard that it's a constitutional right of their citizen to bear guns. And you're right, it would be a long battle, more debates and arguments for the people as long as there are always opposing views. Let's hope that this would be the last time we heard such kind of terrible news.

    Take care,

    Robbie

  • Hello, Luci!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this blog. No one in a right mind would purchase dozens and dozens of firearms and use automatic rifles to massacre innocent civilians. It's really alarming! I hope this horrible crime would not be a thing of the past as if no one learns from it.

    Stay safe,

    Robbie

  • Thank you for your comment, Roman! :)

  • Hi, Muskan!

It's great to hear that! Police visibility in every public place is absolutely important. I hope my country would have the same security in terms of protecting the public against any types of crimes. Thank you for commenting here again.

  • Hi, Rose!

Yes, martial arts can be of great help especially to women. It's a sad reality that rape and other forms of abuse against women are still very rampant considering we're in the 21st century. Thank again for your comments.

    Have a nice weekend!

  • Thank you for reading my blog and for your comment, Bet!

  • Robbie,

It is as sad as it ever can be, and as meaningless as it ever can be. Nothing can ever justify taking a life regardless where in the world it is.

Killing innocent people and destroying families, I don’t even know what to say.

    About this;
“... why is it so easy for someone to buy guns and ammunition in Nevada and other states?”

It is a constitutionally protected right to possess firearms for self defense in the US. It is an essential part of their constitution, I Do not believe it is something that can be changed easily - maybe there are even not sincere political will power to make the changes.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about all, I do agree with you.
  • Thanx for this blog, dear Robie ;) I was shocked to read such bloody news and didn't believe my eyes there exist such psychopats who legally own the weapons - ehm in this case huge collection of weapons. I am against it too and I think there should be some database so that police would know that for example Dave from LA suddenly bought five guns and consider such behaviour suspecious... no idea how to fight against such massive shooting attack especially as he was very well prepared - another sign of psychopath - don't you think?
  • Condolence for the victims.

  • Rose, agree and agree!!
