Just a thought...

It worries me to hear the rising generation using some made-up and lousy words. I couldn't even find it in the dictionary.Technology is indeed getting better, serving and making our lives easier but what is happening to the vocabulary, spelling, grammar and pronunciation of these people?Tell me, if we continue to move on to another century with a better tech, shouldn't that make language better too?

  • as long as there's a thesaurus for those words...it would be wonderful! after all, this is a shared-world. thank you Tara!
  • I'm one of those people who loves made up words. Life's too short to worry about keeping a language wholesome in my opinion. Technology is not going to go away in our lifetime, so we need to embrace it. When old words die new juicy ones like blogosphere and twitterverse are born.
  • agree here too! it's silly people come-up with their own words...how will they be understood?
  • ooo i agree with you Elizabeth...i am being one of the victim too..i find myself loosing the grip on my vocabulary....sometimes the words are on tip of the tongue but they just refuse to ooze out...i feel embarass at times..really the new self made language is ruining our english...
