Journey of the yellow leaf

It was late October. The old oak on the top of the hill started slowly losing its leaves. Winter was around the corner and mother nature was preparing everything for the first freezing days. As many other leaves, I was also thinking about my future and realized that sooner or later my time would come. Sun was getting weaker and weaker day by day and my colour turned into dark yellow. Wind was blowing more intensively and nervousness other leaves spread around was in the air. They felt anxious and scared of falling down, unlike me because I was reconciled to my fate. Then... one day without warning, it happened! All of a sudden I found myself flying in the air and cold wind was just playing with me, I was swinging from side to side. Woow, it was such an awesome feeling. I felt free and totally careless. Finally I can see the village in the valley differently, from other angles and I am impressed, how beautiful the whole landscape looks like. Sun is greeting me and its rays are shining through my yellow transparent colour. I am flying and enjoying my journey of happiness and freedom. I am falling in the air, getting more and more down. Now when I am just a few meters above the ground, I have noticed a couple of lovers sitting on the bench, kissing each other and oopppsss I have landed in her long curly hair! He took me gently out of there and said: "Baby, look.. autumn is here and I can't believe my eyes from where this poor leaf had to fly as there are no oaks around...interesting!" He put me next to him on the bench and I just thought: "Yeah I have come a long way, if you only knew that this was my last journey. Now I can peacefully forever fall asleep with knowing that I really did enjoy my last moments of life..."

Moral: Don't live just for one moment because you are not

a leaf :-D (ok, jokes apart)

Serious moral: Feel free and enjoy the whole life, one day it might be too late to catch up with, what you have missed...

  • Thank you very much Lucinka! It was really interesting to read although it was just fallen leaf... Your story is very beautiful and well written! I enjoyed of reading it! While reading I imagined myself as a leaf. Somehow I found myself little bit similar with this leaf, because he things alot just like me. While reading I was wandering what will be his destiny... And I didn't want this leaf to fell down, so I became little bit sad when it have landed on her hair... And both your morals are good and clear. I like first one more! Thank you very much for sharing!

     My loving Autumn,

    If you coming with rain,

    If you coming with sunrise,

    However, you will,

I keep you in deep of my heart,

    You are my sweet heart!

  • What an interesting blog, dear Luci! Our world is already full of sadness, misery, inequality, destruction and terrorism. I absolutely agree with you. We should live each day as if it's our last and enjoy every single moment with people who truly care and understand us regardless of our color, race and physical attributes. Real happiness is sometimes elusive, but it doesn't mean it's unattainable. :)

  • Moral i extracted from it is Ups and downs are part of life :) you always don't remain up in your life.
