Hello guys, I saw a title among blogs, named "why we cant stop using smartphones" or someting like that and i want to tell you that "WE CAN". There some reasons of me stopping using my smart phone but there is only one main reason which is that I wanted to see what changes when i dont use my smartphone anymore. It has been one week already and so far things went well. And I can list what things has changed after stop using it.

1. More time to think for things around you.

2. More time for friends. At least I am not playing my phone anymore while they are talking to me.

3. I figured out there are high buildings in our neighboor hood. (when you do not use phone you check around more often)

There are also negative sides of not using smart phones

4. I can not take a photo of anywhere. (but not a big problem)

5. I can not call anyone or people can not reach me easily. (I am just emailing with my brother)

I can add a few more negative and positive advantages of not using smart phone but for now it seems enough.

And i am not thinking to use smart phone for a while. I may use an old phone that has no internet connection, has no camera. Old phones' batteries last so long it is very useful.

If you want to change somethings in your lifes start with not using smartphones.

  • I don’t know about giving up the smartphone, but maybe be smart about using it. From the hotel lobby while visiting Hong Kong I can read your blog before going out again and using GPS to find my way in a strange city. It is a tool for me and I don’t let it rule my mind.

  • Haha. Thank you, Paul, for your wishes.

  • Hi Svitlina,

In you case it seems imposible to stop using smart phone XD There are so many factors that need its usage so for now enjoy your smart phone xD

  • Hi Miss Sarah,

Yeah what a coincidence xD the change depends on how much you use it and what for you use it, that is why maybe nothing much has changed in your side. But i can say it is much better to not using it.

  • You know, dear Paul. It is not easy to stop using a smartphone at the present time. At first, I have to use my mobile for my job. I am a travel agent and I need connection with my tourists abroad. Secondly, I want to keep in touch with my kids because they live in another city. Nowadays youth is too busy for talking on a phone. They prefer to use Viber and Whatsapp for short messages.
In fact, It is hard to refuse new devices because we live the new life and with new speeds.

  • What a coincidence 4 days before my phone cable broke down and I also thought that, lets see whay happens if I don't use my phone for a while :D. There is not a big change though because I have only few friends and I use Whatsapp for them for free messaging and calls lol. So no internet and no free messages and calls. But for me is not a big deal, I can survive without smartphone for a while.
But Not for entire life :D

  •   Sorry  for writing  ur name wrong  :( I thought that Paul  is for men  I don't  know how it is pronounced   . Sorry

  • Hello Olga,

Thanks for your comment. I also can say that long live new old phones! Because their batteries last really long as i meant in the blog xD And it is a must for you to use it due to distance between you and  your family in russia. But one day you can try to not use it also if you move to your family xD

  • Hello Luci,

Actually it was the one of reasons that i stopped using it that virtual people thing. I like to discover new people over the world and recently i exaggerated it xD and for now it is better to give a break to know new people.

  • Hello Svitlana,

I always appriciate people who have principles as your husband. He's doing great by doing that. You may give it a try also and stop using it for a short time to figure out what happens without it.

    Hello Rosemary,

Let me correct your mistake that my nick name is paul not paula xD And you are right it is not smartphones but it is the door which open to social media. Thanks for your reply.
