Interviewer

We are a multinational company. Today we are going to interview candidates for  one of our branch. I am one of the interviewer. Before the interview I am going through the applicants details to find out who are geared for progression in their careers and also who can contribute immediately to the company. On closer analysis I find one candidate very interesting. He is John, age 23 and he got a masters degree in Engineering with a University top rank. He is athletic and he involves in extra activities too. I discuss with the panel and I determined to employ him.

I can see lots of candidates waiting outside. When the time arrives we call the candidates one by one. When John's time came, my assistant informed that, he hasn’t arrived yet. The panel not satisfied. Our highly skilled team trained to keep time management and we expect the same from every one. We are looking for candidate’s credibility. A while later my assistant informed John just come in. We call him for the interview. He was so nervous, sweating. Probably he was running. John is apologize for being late to the interview. Because he missed the train. The interview went good. His communication style is excellent, he is aware of the company's ethos and customs. But our panel not satisfied about his time keeping and they don't want to take any risk. So We couldn’t employ John. Sadly we missed his talents.

  • Dear Keen learner, 'time keeping' should be priority at all the time particularly when we are attending a interview. That's why I try to tell this story, with the interviewer point of view. Thank you for your comment.
