I actually studied the concept of inner beauty at the age of 14 in my secondary school, but I did not actually understand what it was and how it worked.
Today, something made me think of my idol. She is actually a successful woman who is about 40 years old. She has three kids, writes a lot of famous books, does a lot of business, and reads a lot of books. She even donates a lot of money.
Suddenly, there was something crossing my mind at the moment. I suddenly understood what inner beauty was.
My understanding to inner beauty now is actually quite abstract. I try to share it with you in words. I am looking forward to your opinion as well.
If a person has inner beauty, he will make people feel that he looks better than how he originally looks like. Inner beauty can enhance by increasing our characteristics, knowledge, morality, movement, the ways we talk and so on.
I think that is why I always think she is beautiful, although other people who do not know her think that she looks like an old housewife. This is because her characteristics, knowledge and others make me think that she is beautiful.
After the happening of this event, it reminds me of one of my experiences in the past. I actually do not think Jay Chou is handsome when I saw him. (He is the most famous singer in Taiwan. So far as I know, he is the only person who does not know English but still can have movie in Hollywood.) However, when I saw his movie, Green Hornet, I suddenly feel that he looks handsome and charming.
I think this is because his ability, movement, breakthrough, make him look better.
In a nutshell, I think that in order to make us look better. We can actually do more than improving our look.

It happened and happening to me in TV and in reality that I see people who has ordinary looks very charming and I argue that they are beautiful while who doesn't know them may say the opposite. Its what inside what really matter and what stay cuz time will take the outside beauty and what inside will remain.

One's appearance would get senile when time goes by, only inner beauty and character would exit endless. However, the actualism is one of the mainstreams nowadays so many prefer chasing their look more than inner beauty.
Those who have inner beauty would be found and cherished by who see them with their heart.
This is a quite interesting article. Sadly, not many people care about inner beauty nowadays. Inner beauty is like a glass of aged red wine; if you drink it in a hurry, you won't be able to taste its fruity flavor, you won't be able to tell if it's dry or full bodied. Otherwords, it takes time. The definition of inner beauty is broad, I believe there is no right or wrong answer.
