My dear friends! Yesterday was Flag day and today is Independence Day  of my country and I can't help writing a few words in this connection! Hope, you don't mind.

I will not tell you any history for you either know or want to know nothing from it. I will show you a few pictures for you to able to cotmpare and make your own conclusions.

On the left is the Ukrainian flag. It has 8 century old history. Just compare it with the picture on the right. Doesn't it look peaceful?

The colors of our flag symbolize wheat, i.e. prosperity, and the clear sky, i.e, peace.

Our land is very fertile. For a  few centuries Ukraine has been known as a "bread basket" of Europe and we don't want our land to look like this:

It is our central square. Only six months ago during The Revolution of Dignity, it looked like this (on the left). Just look, what it looks like today (on the right)! It took our people only a few weeks to clear it up and to reconstruct everything!

Today there have been the military parades in Kiev and Odessa and the most of servicemen and military technique started out to the zone of military actions just from there! You just compere: the parade in Kiev (on the left) and the zone of ATO (on the right).

We don't want to get back in plactic bags the best we have: our people who are ready "to give up their soles and lives for our freedom" (from the National anthem).

On the other hand, look at our regular people!Never in my life have I ever seen such rise of patriotism and national consciousness!

So,it is for you to decide if it is nessecary to be a patriot and to keep national spirit high when your country is in the undeclared war which can become WWIII.

  • My dear friends! AReality, Beethoven! So sorry for not seeing your comments earlier! Thank you very much for your good attitude to my native country and for your right vision of the world problems. Ukraine, contrary to Russia has always been a very peaceful country. But we love our land and those who'll come to Ukraine with weapons wll be given no quarter. Russian invasion made Ukrainians recall their history, their freedomloving spirit, all former offences and made them unite. I am sure, Kremlin didn't expect that. Besides, many people from other post Soviet countries joined the Ukrainian Army to fight Russsians in the East Ukraine. There are also some men from the USA, Canada and other Western countries who joined the Ukrainian Army as volunteers and, as far as I know one of Americans was killed in the military actions. We all know, there is only one force that can kill the beast, but that force is not ready to start WWIII and I agree. There is always hope to solve any problem in diplomatic way. But, unfortunately, I am sure, it is not about Russia and Putin.

  • Happy independence day Tanya. I like the colors of your flag. Nice country and great people(:
  • Pease forever in Ukraine! War is never good and the world must pull together to see that there is no more war.
  • Thanks, Tara, Estanis! Tara, as you know, history of Ukraine is endless struggle for freedom and independence. My nation has become hardened in this fight during ages. It is strange, but the only selected few  have always understood who is our worst enemy. I will try to translate the passage from the poem (mine won't be a poem, by no means!) written during WWII. The name of the poet is Pavlo Tychyna. I think, it will give people some an idea about our believes.

I am the Nation which strenght of rightness

Has never been annigilated by anyone,

Either by any misfortune or by any plague.

My strenght and power have returned again.

    Moscawia! You was devoring me

While hanging my daughters and sons,

While stealind my bread and coal.

I hate you, burn in Hell!

You thought all of me would  join you ,

But you will chock with me.

I am becoming firm for I am still alive.

Yes, we have become firm and almost all for everyone. It is our freedomloving spirit that makes us unite and fight against the only one enemy we realy have and have always had! Long live glory of Ukraine!

  • Beautiful writing, Tanya. Keep staying strong for your country!

  • I watched it in news T.V. Happy independence day and God bless Ukraine and Ukranians!
  • Dear ladies! Thanks for congratulations. Sveta, I congratulate you, too. I saw  the marine parade and the parade of embroidered shirts in Odessa on TV yesterday. It was great!

  • Happy Independence Day to you and all the people of Ukraine. Every citizen of a country has a right to defend the sovereign and freedom of their country. And every citizen should feel proud to be patriotic.

May long lasting peace be achieved by Ukraine.
