IELTS academic writing task 1 - The pie chart

The given pie charts represent the proportion of average household expenditures by major category – transport, food, healthcare, housing, other goods and services- in Japan and Malaysia in the year 2010.

At first glance, we can see that close, the ratio of same spending except housing and transport in both countries. For example, food makes up 24% of the household expenses in Japan, while twenty seven percent of the household spending is food expenditure in Malaysia. Moreover, other goods and services expenses have the highest ratio in Japan. The situation is different in Malaysia where the highest ratio is housing expenses that account for 34% of the household expenditures.

İnterestingly, in Japan, the expenditures of transport made which has doubled the spending of transport in Malaysia. On the other hand, in both countries, the lowest proportion was expenditures of health care which 6% of the household expenses in Japan and 3% of the household expenditures in Malaysia
