I want to make friends with you.

I want to make friends with you. Sounds familiar, right?

At lease we come across with it in virtual world so often.  It got me thinking what it really means to make friends on net.  What do you expect from someone that you choose to be your friend? Is it important to you where does he or she come from? Does it matter what is his or her religion? How about his gender? His job, his marital state and so on.

For me it is kind of exciting to make friends from all over the world, because it would give me the opportunity to get to know different people with different cultures. It is unlikely I could get the opportunity to see other countries in reality so that would be an amazing experience to be friends with different people through this magical place internet, skype, Ec or whatever you name it.

Having something in common can be a good start for a friendship. Like the one we are gathered here for I mean learning English. If we want to have a good friendship we must have mutual respect towards each other. We all are grown up in different cultures with different backgrounds so it is important not to offend one another. Stereotyping others for their country, religion or beliefs is not fair. Let’s put aside all those judgmental thoughts at least in this virtual world.

I really like it when my friends share their favorite books, movies etc with me. I have read so many amazing books because my friends highly recommended reading those books.  Taking time out of our busy life and talking to our friends once in a while would be great. It indicates that they matters to us. We all have some difficult times in our lives so having someone to talk your heart out would be a great relief. We all know that talking to people in a positive way can do magic especially when they feel down. So a friend should inspire her or his friend, show them the light at the end of the tunnel.

A real friendship should help both sides to become better people to thrive to enjoy each other’s company. Because I think that is what friendship is all about.

I do not claim that I am a good friend but I try to do my best. I wish to make so many great friends in real and virtual world as well.
