I Can Promise You

 Promise

P R O M I S E, Yeah these are only six letters. , but have you ever thought how powerful is this single word? I want to ask some questions from you. How many times did you say this sentence in your life”I promise you”? Maybe you told that more than 30 times for your parents, for your siblings, for your friends or for your beloved and perhaps sometimes you didn't care about what you said.  However, do you know that you give so many hopes with your promise when you make a promise something to someone? If you think this is only word and there’s no value, you're wrong.

Don't make promises, if you can't fulfill it.

Another question, have you ever broken a promise? Well, It’s very easy to make promises and sometimes it's very hard to fulfill but don't forget that if you make a promise to somebody, that person who takes your promise is relying on your words. She/he trusts you. So if you break your promises that meant you disappoint them.  Maybe they will never go to trust you again. Before you make a promise consider about that more than twice, think what you actually can do. If you’re sure that you will be able to fulfill your promise without any doubt that's a certain time to make your promise.

Don't say when

Imagine your kid ask from you “'would you please bring a doll for me” (or imagine your loving someone asks something from you) you think you can it, and you said 'OK I promise you I'll bring it tomorrow'. At that time, you don't think about that. Nevertheless, perchance, you would be failed to fulfill your promise in that certain date or time that’s enough to break your loved one's heart. So never say when but don't take a long time to fulfill your promise.

Don't be afraid to say "No"

If someone asks you something and you think or sure you can't possibly do that. Say, "No, I can't do that." Don't worry. It’s better than break your promise but don’t forget to explain that why do you can’t fulfill.

Promise me

Have you ever taken a promise from someone? You must also think before you take a promise from someone. Ask questions from yourself. Is that unfair? Can he/she fulfill that? And think about his or her situation. Otherwise he/she will become destitute between you and his/her situation. So think more than twice before you ask something.

Finally, I just want to say, please don’t make a promise if you can’t fulfill it because it’s very valuable word more than you can think.

Thank you :)  Hope this blog is not boring for you.

P.S.  Actually, I have a bad experience with a promise which I made. Before 7 or 8 months ago I promised to my friend to do something, but I didn't say when and that time, I didn't think about my promise seriously.  However, I couldn't fulfill my promise because I became destitute with my situation, then my friend said I hurt him very much and it’s an insult. Can you imagine about my feeling?  Still I worry about that more than I can say. Another day (after that incident) my sister broke her promise which she made for me and that day, I could understand how hurtful that someone broke his or her promise and I could understand my friend’s feeling who I hurt very much. That’s why I had chosen that topic for my first blog, and I based my experience to write this blog.

  • really strange to see promises in this point of view ... i think most of people think the same way as  you described in your blog ... though, they keep promising each others ... and hardly fulfilling them ... as for me ... i don't take everything as a promise ... only things that really matters yes ... I do agree ... things that could change our entire life ... it's essential to keep a promise in this cases ... that was my PERSONAL view ...

    thanks for the blog.

Yeah you're right. PROMISE has seven letters. It's my mistake. Sorry for my mistake.

  • Hmm, I still not understand why PROMISE has six letters!!!

I searched over internet and found some stories like Solemn 6 words of promise is 'Pledge'.

Is it like this way to explain? Come on don't let this suspense for me... ^.^

Okay here is my review as promised.

Let me explain you in details according to our mythology books, how people are communicating today and in past. Our ancestors describes the time period of mankind this way.

    1. Satya Yuga: In this era nobody speak a lie, people were never locked door and there is no corruption. No one break the promise or vows. 100% truth.

    2. Treta Yuga: In this era man still lives in morality and follows the path of Dharma. People still kept their promise. Actually nobody knows what is lies or something. but at the end of this yuga, lies risen up. You can 80%  Truth and 20% Lies in between mankind. People kept their promises.

3.Dvapara Yuga: This is third era of mankind there is 50% truth and 50% Lies remain them. Still truth wins at the end of this era. Now at end of this era, darkness rises among the peoples as the truth wins but the last king captured by darkness and then you can see everyone have greed for gold. That gold is the major source of corruption and darkness. But people kept their promises.

    4. Kali Yuga: Now we are living in this era of Kali Yuga. No one speaks truth, very few people can really full fill their vows or promise. It's not a nature or anyone wants to break their promise, it happens automatically. Either we forget or something happens to us that curses the reason to break the vow. We can only try our best, it would be best if just say all the time 'I will try my best' instead of promising. A vow and promise strengthen your soul and your mind if do not get broken. If you live guilt free and do not let your mind corrupt, you can achieve many things in life. If we are determined to do then their is no need to say promise, you going to do this surely.
