Just look at how the word is formed from other words in other languages...
Words are fun! As the introduction said, "There's something so satisfying about pulling out a $15 word — the kind that you hardly ever get to use, but fits the situation perfectly."
And word origins help us connect to the various groups that contributed to one of the world's greatest vocabularies!
