Once upon a time there was a kingdom, where people lived peacefully and enjoyed each and every awesome day. The royal family was very popular and finally the day, when the Princess Smarty turned the age when others get married, has come. Her father the King Respectful II. didn't want to wait longer and decided to organize the courtship. He invited every prince from the surrounding kingdoms and all people were eagerly waiting for the princes' decission. Smarty was very very choosy but on the other hand she was well known for her smartness and golden heart. Since this was supposed to be a big step, in fact the start of her new life period, she didn't want to underestimate it, didn't want to be in a hurry with her final verdict.

In one week she wisely chose three best "candidates" and noble people, including royal family gathered in the Grand Royal Ballroom decorated in very festive style. The King Respectful II. welcomed all and announced that before the Princess Smarty would choose one of those three young men, she insists in asking one question.

The Princess stood up and said: "My dear three princes, let me ask you one simple question. Please, tell me, what would you do, if you saw me eating worms?"

Suddenly the royal ballroom turned to little bit weird place. People were confused, didn't know what to think and some of them even started doubting, if their princess didn't go mad.

The Prince James Careful answered first: "Dear Smarty, do you really want to eat worms? I have to admit that it is something so yucky to me and to see people eating worms would make me without doubt disgusted. I want to be your husband but I am not sure if I can love somebody who is able to eat worms. Please, try to change your mind.

Now the Prince George Dominant was ready to answer: "Smarty, if I saw you eating worms, as your husband I would immediately order you to stop it! You are smart enough to know that I am right and I mean it in good way with you!"

As the third one prince Henry Tolerant came up with his answer: "Princess, in my opinion you are free to do what you want. If you like worms, it is simply your free choice and nobody has right to judge you. I would let you enjoy eating them."

After listening to them attentively, Smarty realized she didn't need long time to make the decission. She came to her father and whispered to his ear:

"Dad, please let me choose Henry Tolerant, he is the only one of them, I am able to imagine my life with.

The King was smiling and answered:  "My beloved daughter, you made great decission, and I am so proud of you!"

Later the King Respectful II. announced, who is going to marry his daughter and people in the ballroom started muttering since some of them didn't understand why princess chose Henry Tolerant. Princess again stood up, clupped her hands to make people quiet and said:

"Dear inhebitants of our beautiful kingdom, I was raised in freedom and to be controlled by somebody, to live imprisoned with someone who wouldn't respect me or would be disgusted by me, it all would kill my nature. I hope you want to see me happy and smiling instead of sad and hurt. Please, respect my choice the same way the Prince Tolerant proved he would respect me eating worms."

In few days there was wedding ceremony and do believe it or not, dear readers...they lived happily in harmony, peace and tolerated each other till the rest of their lives.

Thank you for reading it, dear friends.

I just wanted you to stop for a while and to think about yourself, if you are TOLERANT or NOT.

  • Nakstra,
thanx for your lovely comment. Yes, we should tolerate each other otherwise the meaning of the word freedom would die ..
  • Nice story! Lucy. Sometime people bind with love, duties and responsibilities. Everyone deserve freedom and other people should respect the freedom of each other.

  • Zivar and Jai, thanx a lot for your comments! Freedom ruleeezzzz :)
  • Mishaikh, thanx for comment, agree with you. I personally can't imagine partner next to me who wouldn't be tolerant. Life is about compromises.
  • Sathiavathi,
thank you for your comment, I fully agree with you and unfortunately there are people who are able to misuse freedom. Shame on them!
  • Tolerance and acceptance of a partner (especially life), makes the coexistence of them easy, supple and loving.  Love means submission to the will of your beloved.  If it is so, the couple pass through the hardship of life without feeling any hardship.

  • A nice story with a good moral. Tolerance, one of the greatest virtue of human. Every one has

freedom to act their own way unless and until it is not obstructed others freedom.

  • yea dear right..!
