Diva is a girl with profound optimism. She was determined and very lucid on her ideas. She was living a simple and meaningful life. Her willingness to accept situation attracts the people. She was ready to take challenges and never made an excuse of being women. She was cheerful, lively, witty and fearless.
A time came when she has to tie a knot and it’s obvious since everyone wait for this day irrespective of cast, religion or gender.Ours society is a man dominating society where women feeling hardly valued. Bride parent always look for wealthy family and twist here is wealthier one is more demanding. It’s called Dowry where a bridal family has to pay agreed ample amount before marriage. In spite of dowry is against the law but still people practice it mandatory.
Diva was very happy and days were very wonderful, she imagined of her soul mate and spending time together. On her weeding day many people joined and it was a grand celebration with delicious food and lavish gifts on the father expense. Her father spent hard earned money on her weeding. Finally she married and got in to in-law house. Initial days were good and family treated her well. She too tried to adjust with the new environment. After a month she felt rudeness in her husband behavior but she tried to ignore. But day by day situation became worse. She was forced to involve in all house hold work without any time constraints. Whole day she got engage herself to satisfy demand. But cruelty has crossed the limit and they treated her not less than a slave.
Intention behind this torture and harassment was to demand further money from her parents. Greedy in-laws kept on demanding. Diva never wanted forward this demand to her parents. She knew her father situation. She tried to pledge her husband and his family and but useless.
They played the conspiracy and were keep taking money from her father on small excuses without Diva knowledge. They threaten him multiple times, if he wouldn’t her daughter will be throw out. Diva came to know the truth and one day burst out; that day she was beaten and wounded. Still Diva had hoped that situation will be better one day but it was only her imagination only. They kept demanding and torturing.
That morning was filled with complete science and a big gathering outside the in-law house. A complete silence inside and outside seemed the universe has stopped; inside the room Diva has hanged herself and ended her life last night…
When her father heard the news a voice echoed… if you would have given me an opportunity to study...i would be with you father..
Diva was not a single Woman but many hanged or burnt or dumped by the greedy people.
