Don't you just love diversity ?

I come from a diverse family background: English, Iranian and Kurdish. We just celebrated Norooz the Iranian new year and next week it will be Easter and although we're not particularly religious, we do celebrate the traditions of both Zoroastrian and Christian faiths.

Last week I was at an Iranian/Kurdish Norooz party with my family enjoying all the delightful food from many different regions in Iran and Kurdistan. And now I am planning the family get together meal for Easter and it will be a mixture of Iranian and English food. Something to suit everyone's tastes!

It makes me feel very proud of my family and the way we are comfortable with both cultures and I think what a wonderful gift to pass on to the younger members of this family who will grow into adults with open minds and experiences of diverse customs and traditions.

I wish that everyone could open their hearts and minds and enjoy difference as we do. It would make the world a much more positive place for us all to live in.

  • Hi Mostafa sure re the partners idea. Oh such a shame you don't like norooz :( I love it myself. And I love nature too! Spring is my favorite time of the year. Every where looks so pretty with new life bursting through and then we know summer is coming. Although summers here in the UK are not so hot and don't last so long, like in Iran.
  • hi. i'm iranian too. i've found this site lately. actually i'm looking for a partner. english partner i mean. maybe we could help eachother...in english i mean...
actually i don't like norooz. i like spring but i dislike Dido-Bazdid because i'm not a social fellow. i'd rather travel and spend my vacation time in nature, blossom in rain, blow through trees like wind..
