Dialogue Challenge : Two Old Chirping Birds

Here goes my attempt in trying to write a whole dialogue. As Mr. Bob said, just imagine two people talking to each other. I found it's not so hard after that. So, try not cringe at this conversation. Please be patient with these two chirping birds. LOL

Ina : So, what's the plan for this year? Are we going to visit Europe as planned or are we going to go somewhere else?

Ita : I don't know. I've been thinking about it a lot, but I still can't make up my mind. What do you think?

Ina : You know I prefer to go to Europe, but walking around in Europe during winter is no fun. Ahhhh!

Ita : Yes! Me too. I don't like the cold weather. So what's our next plan?

Ina : I don't mind going back to Perth, you know.

Ita : Me too. I don't mind going back. But, I prefer if we go to some other places that we have never been before.

Ina : Well, as long as it's not cold and within our budget, of course!

Ita : Of course. So what's your suggestion?

Ina : I've been looking through several destinations which I think could suit our budget and would also be warm enough for us. So here are a few places that I think we can look further. Bali, Bandung, Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney or Hong Kong. But we had been to Bali, Bandung and Bangkok, so maybe we should look at other options.

Ita : Yes, those three places are interesting, but we have been there a few times, so they are less attractive. Maybe we should think further about Melbourne, Sydney or Hong Kong. And, if all fails, we can fall back to Perth. There are a few places that we didn't go the last time we were there.

Ina : Agree! Then the next question is, which dates are we talking about? When are you free?

Ita : You know I've tendered my resignation last week. So it means I won't be working the whole December. I've told my new Boss that I will only be available next year. So, basically, I am as free as a bird.

Ina : Wow! Finally! That's good news then.

Ita : Yes! Now the final dates will be up to you to decide. Which dates do you think suitable?

Ina : I think I am okay from 8th to 19th December.

Ita : Great! Then the only thing that we need is to decide our destination.

Ina : Yeah! Tell you what! Let us sleep on it, and we will discuss about it again this coming weekend.

Ita : Yes. Let's do that. Lets us eat then.

As you can depict from the above conversations, basically it's based more or less on real life conversations between my best friend and me. We had been tossing ideas on where we are going this year. And to tell you the truth, we are still clueless where we are going.

  • Dear Sewar. Definitely your country will be put into my wish list of countries to visit.

  •          Don't think a lot my dearest friend! Come to my country and I will be a very generous host with you and with your friend as well. I am not kidding you!!!!

  • Thanks for reading, Seeker.

  • Hi Estanis. Yeah, I like talking and planning the next trip, but it can be frustrating too especially when we can't seem to know the answer.

Well, currently I am learning a few Spanish words. :D :D

  • I love When I dialogue with anyone about traveling, even more planning for our next trip.

Btw, nice new name. You give it a latin touch haha... I like it!
  • Oi Dashing Pole Rys, thank you for that correction. I really appreciate it. And don't ever feel that I will feel put off. Further from that. I really appreciate any form of corrections, from everyone. Trust me, I will be chirping your ears off, so don't worry. LOL

  • Oh my wise drunk Lord Luci. LOL. Though most of the times I am looking like a sleepy cat, but don't tell anyone that I'm as chirpy as Tweety bird. Yeah ... with whom we spend our time is sometimes more important that the place itself. But trust me, for a pair of old chirpy birds, the place is really plays important role. Otherwise we will be bored with each other within a few minutes. LOL

  • Oi Noa jan,

Nice dialogue, especially in sense of wordings and composition. The title "Chirping birds" suits perfectly the personality of both "chirpers"!

Nevertheless, there is an itsi, bitsy lil' mistake I would like to poit out. In your sentence: "....several destinations which I think could suit our budget and also warm enough for us.", there are two sentences connected with "and", so, if the main verb in both sentences is the same, there is no need to repeat it in the second sentence, example:

I hope the hotel suits our budget and our preferences.

But in your case, the second sentence needs another verb, so it should have been written in the following way:

....several destinations which I think could suit our budget and would also be warm enough for us.

Hmmmm...dear Noa [que puede volar], I sincerely hope that my correction won't put you off from further "chirping" only encourage you to continue your creative writing which gives us so much joy.

  • ohhh cat turned to bird :D nice dialogue and wish you awesome holiday in advance ! btw do you know what sometimes matters? with whom we are instead of where we spend it :p ehmm just pretending m wise...
  • Thanks for the corrections, Mr. Bob. I really appreciate it. Yes, I hope my friend and I will agree on something.

I took you advice and tried to imagine my conversation with my friend about the matter, that's why it's a bit easier to write this dialogue.
