Having a chance to travel back in time and to meet a historical person would be the best birthday gift to me, however I know, I know, this is just about my imagination… Well, to ask Jesus to show me walking on water wouldn't be a bad idea but I am not sure, if I would give him my hand in case he would start drowning... To meet Giacomo Casanova would be cool but I would be scared of catching some sexual dissease as he was such womanizer! :D To be sincere, I would meet Sigmund Freud – well known psychologist. Ehmmm… stop yawning guys, I can see youuu!!!

You know, he was born just 30 km far away from my place, even though later he moved to Austria and lived in its capital Viena, so I won't even travel so far away when it comes to the distance! (saving money, Mr. Clark :D)

Why him? As I am sometimes hysterical psycho, I would like him to practise his therapy on me! He was trying to cure such people by hypnozis and I wonder, if it would help me to control myself or not! Besides I would like to ask him about my sleeping paralyzis, if he knew something about this problem in his era because it time to time bothers me as I wake up and can't move! "Sigmund, please help me!!!!" ehm hysterically screaming Luci really needs some help as you can see. Maybe I would ask him to invent some therapy against it. Another issue which he would be maybe little bit confused about would be my sexual dreams as he was so much into them and their interpretation. Sigmund, how come I have no dreams like this? What would you say to me?

I hope, he would survive to meet somebody like me and after seeing me leaving, I bet he would light his cigar and would just think: "Uffff, finally she is gone!"

  •  Hello everyone!

I am really surprised and even a little startled how my short comment has started a discussion about religions and religious people.

I want to clarify, my comment wasn't meant as a start of discussions on that way.

Let me explain my statement. please: I have not spoken about the time of the prophets (like Jesus) ...  how religions describe it.
I was speaking about how our world has been established, formed, created (... how ever we want to name it ... ). I want to know the truth  ... how  our nature with all those marvelous plants, animals, the earth, the sea, the sky and we humans with our mind ..has been formed.

My wish to go back in time of the formation of the earth was only, to know the truth about it. All those discussions and fights which religion the only true is, should be find its end. I am not religious but I know about the basic story of all religions, they are the same. The same story of the formation of the earth and of us humans is written in each holy books ... it's up to us whether we believe in it or not. We should respect different faiths and also the believers.... even if we don't agree.

No one knows exactly the story of the beginning of our existence and nobody knows what happens after we die. No one came back from the past telling us what happened. Everything is a kind of believe... either in the story of god how he created everything ... or how the science tells us. Everything is just believe .... everything what we are thinking of .... because ... no one can prof it .... because ... no one was witness of that.

I didn't want to start a discussion about relogion or attesist.
It was not the subject of my comment to discuss pro and contra of religions.
And I never make fun at the expense of believing persons.

  • So Christmas is not Christian tradition!!?? You're making me feel like when I found out who the Three Wise Men are.
I'll stop taking aspirins for my headaches from now on.

Mary, you know there are Christian members on this site (btw also intelligent) and the comments previous to your 'humorous' reply by Luci and Danny referred to Jesus Christ are not appropriate at all in Ec, just try to write like that about Allah and see what happens.
Anyway for me it's enough, I'm done and I don't wanna get on badly with this.
All in all this is not the subject of the blog.
  • Okay this is easy then: Tell me who get offended 'cause of my jokes about religion and I'll talk to them to apologize but also to explain them that humor sense is a great virtue (or in religious terms: "A gift from God", 'cause just human beings have that condition)

And btw, about Christmas, that's actually a pagan tradition (to be with the family during the winter solstice and exchange gifts, the tree, etc) It comes before the monotheistic religions. Christians and Medieval Popes just stole all these traditions and changed the name to 'nativity', for making ppl to forget the pagan meaning. So, to decorate a tree and exchange gifts in the winter solstice is pretty much pagan.

  • Hello Kitty... :p

... and I don't 'judge' Jehovah witnesses, muslims, atheists, sun worshippers or alien adorers whenever they don't pick on anyone.
The point here is that the comments in a blog that was supposed not to have a link with religion, had made fun and offended some members' sensibility. Although I don't like at all such mockery, they don't take so much effect on me since I admit religion is not my strong point but I know there're members who find them insulting although they won't take part on this.

As for criticising Christians for going to doctors or searching knowledge for any disease like my case, is just like criticising an atheist for celebrating Christmas, I've read blogs here and liked it regardless of the owner condition.
We already know that the earth is round and we're not the centre of the Universe,
C'mon! there's no need to treat them like medieval ideologists.
  • radical comments?? atheism vs tolerance?? Wait... What???! Why you mention that? Am i being 'intolerant' and 'radical' for pointing out what is, in my opinion, a very illogical and contradictory religious behavior? I just remark what I learnt myself from religious people when I was a kid: "The day you die, you'll meet God". Then, I think is very normal now that I wonder why are you guys so afraid to get sick and die? The day you die you're gonna meet your God!... then why you guys are so afraid to die or to get sick and look for scientific answers to find a cure? I really don't get it! Why you look for answers instead of just accept God's will? In my opinion that means that probably you're not so sure that there's gonna be a God waiting for you at the end. And about 'radical opinions', I say again that I just remark what religion teachers and priests in churches taught me so, if there's something 'radical' here, that's all these religious doctrines.

And btw, this is the reason I don't 'judge' some Jehovah's Witnesses traditions (as I've heard many times Catholic ppl doing) I think they are coherent and consequent with their beliefs rejecting medical help and I respect them for that. There, the only topic to discuss is that minors should never be involved in ANY kind of religious doctrine/tradition.

  • Dear Luci, Mary, Danny, my applause, have nothing to add! Maybe about dreams! LOL! We don't see sexual dreams if our conscience is strong enough to suppress our wierd desires or if we are satifsied with what we have. I do see such dreams!

Dear Estanis, we are not going to reassure you, but there is the first amendment of our Constitution declaring freedom of faith or its absenece. We believe in science and we never apply to god if we need medical care or any other assisstance. And we are sure we are masters of our own lives. It helps us live like your faith help you. But to believe in mythes sounds and will always sound strange and unacceptable for us.

  • Yeah... I knew I could open Pandora's box...
There is no reason for Development to falls out with religion. 'Science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind' it's not mine but A. Einstein, curious? Actually, the most prosperous region in Europe has a society highly Catholic.

In my view, there's no unavoidable need to follow an institution to have your own way of being a believer, I guess it's something more personal.
I bet you all know some atheist friend, relative... who got married in a church or took their children to have the first communion. That's what I call hypocrisy, not that a Christian go to see a doctor.
Time ago I decided not to involve in radical religious comments and I will keep on acting like that as for radical liberal ones, it seems that moderation is a downward trend nowadays.
If atheism boasts of tolerance, followers should act consequently.
  • Dear Luci, it is exactly what I meant about Jesus.

    Dear Mary, BRAVO!

  • Lmao poor Estanis!!! However, religious explanation of this problem is that devil is sitting on you... will better accept science, which says that some parts of brain struggle with connecting while trying to sleep and thats why you are up halucinating but body already sleeps ;)
  • Haha Mary ... after all we are animals just some people are better at hiding it ;D
