  • CLOTHS OF HEAVEN: W B YEATS

Had I the heaven’s embroidered cloths

Enwrought with golden and silver light

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths

Of night light and half light

I would have spread those cloths under your feet

But I being poor have only my dreams

I have spread my dreams under your feet

Tread softly for you tread on my dreams

    Khwaab mere naazuktar: Khaliqur Rahman

Paas mere huwe hote kaheen qaaleen-e-bahisht

Jin men zarreen kaheen aur kaheen seemeen kaam

Jin men neelam si chamak ho wahi qaleen-e-bahisht

Jin men ho subha kaheen raat kaheen ishwa-e-shaam

Aise qaleen sar-e-raah bichhaata main magar

Paas mere mere khwaabon ke siwaa kuchh bhi naheen

Main ne khwaabon ko sar-e-raah kiyaa farsh magar

Neend pyaari hai inhen neend se hai waabasta

Halke se rakkhen qadam aur zara aahasta

Paa-e-naazuk hi sahi khwaab mere naazuktar

Naazuki qadmon ki khwaabon ko jagaaye na kaheen

(This happened in the summer of 1965 after the Masters
  • The credit goes to Nadira. It was she who prompted me to post my recordings on word stress which is forthcoming. To begin with, I experimented with Cloths of Heaven. Syubi, then, helped me in how-to- post. So, here it is! Thanks again to Nadira and Syubi.

This transliteration just happened! Way back in 1964-65!! As if fresh from the oven... just after finishing with the Masters...The Muse possessed a wrong head... by default! And... it happened!!!
