Bayazid Bostami was a great saint. He was a very obedient boy. In his childhood, he was very obedient to his mother. Once, Bayazid was reading at his table. It was dead of night.His mother was in a deep sleep. She was ill. Suddenly, she woke up. She asked Bayazid to give her a glass of water. But there was not a drop of water in the pitcher. So Bayazid went to a distant fountain with the pitcher. Bayazid brought water for his mother. But by this time, Bayazid's mother was asleep again. Bayazid thought that he shouldn’t disturb his mother's sleep. So he kept standing beside his mother's bed the whole night with a glass of water. In the morning, Bayazid's mother woke up.
