...and I keep on asking you...

...and I keep on asking you...
"What will remain one day, when we leave this world?"
...then I can hear myself silently answering...
Maybe two soulmates dancing together in the universe...
or no more you, no more me, two burried identities lost forever...

... and I still keep on asking you...
"What exactly will remain when we both leave this world?"
... then I can hear myself whispering...
Suddenly all these tangible things we considered not that important will start making sense...
In fact our absence will give them deep meaning...
A paper with my crazy verses will become more understandable..
exactly like your cool photos will turn into interesting masterpieces...
Smell hidden in our clothes, our old-fashioned furniture...this all will give others feeling of our everlasting presence...

... however... I can't stop asking you...
"What will remain when I leave this world???"
... then I can hear myself crying..
because I know that you will never answer me...

  • Dear Luci, it is very nice and very touching. I don't want to think about death at all. Why? We know we have been born to die. Our death is inevitable and there is no reason to think about it. But being a materialist, I belive in law of matter conservation : our atoms will become part of nature. At least , we can do something useful fertilizing the earth soil with our reminders. But, you know, I am a rebel. So, my last will says that my ashes must be thrown into the Cristal River and those who will do it should sing my best songs at my funeral. Why have you made me think about passing away?

Well dear, I am still able to joke. I am collecting your verses, blogs and some of your comments. So, when you depart, I will have that collection published and it will become the EC Bible!

To be serious, think about living and enjoying every moment. Life is so short, but it is worth enjoying every moment

  • Luci, thanks for posting such a cool poem. Your words remind me of idealism. That everything in this world is just 'ideas'. If someone dies and get buried or burned, there is almost no remains, only memory inside the people who used to know us. There is a saying that someone is called die not when he/she dies, but when people forget about him/her. Another example I found in a serial where the actor said, you are just as real as hamburger you've just eat. Meaning, it existed and disappeared. Well, not all people agree with such beliefs -thought it said to be the oldest- and prefer like materialism that claims everything is material. If something is gone/disappear, it is not. Just change into another form. ^^
