A game with own fate (Part Two)

A GAME WITH OWN FATE

Part Two

Meanwhile he was watching the movie, he heard some noise outside. Of course, he knew he couldn´t open the door and go there, since his death might be waiting for him with open arms. On the other hand he was since the early childhood very curious and again his curiousity was trying to beat him. This time he had to be more careful, he realized that it is a matter of life now to open the door and to go outside. He won´t do it at any cost. He sat down on the sofa and decided to continue in watching the movie. Anyway, it wasn´t easy at all to control himself, to stay calm, to be aware of the reality that today´s day can be his last one. What to do? How to survive it? He was doubting if he is strong enough to face it all alone. In such situation nobody is able to enjoy the movie, so he gave it up and turned the tv off since his mood was off too. The game has started and his role was the most important, his task was – to survive.

Everythinig is about the attitude and he knew it very well, actually he was that one in the company who supported other colleagues, who gave them the energy, who motivated them. Now he needed somebody to help him, to encourage him, just to tell him: "Don´t worry, you will survive this day and your life will go on as if nothing has ever happened before." Such person was being missed now in his apartment and he didn´t know if he should drag somebody in this game. He was too responsible to ask  for help his mom, friends, colleagus. His mind was telling him that one should face such situation alone because we all are in this world alone. We were born alone, so we have to be able to take care of ourselves when we are in the danger. He caught himself saying out of loud: "Yes, you will make it, you are strong enough, you won´t die, you are the best and you will prove it!!!" His self-confidence was back. Suddenly, he was even doubting if it wasn´t just some silly dream and he is now scared at home because of some fictive fantasy. He realized how powerful mind can be, how it can control us.

His phone started ringing and on the display was written: Mom. Oh noooo, what to do now, should he answer it or not? After few seconds he said: "Heloooo mom, how are you?" She didn´t recognize anything suspecious from his voice but as a typhoon immediately informed him that his apartment might be soon in the danger because there is a big fire in the neighbourhood and people are being evacuated. She heard it on the radio just few seconds ago. She asked him to come back as soon as possible from work, to  pack the most important stuff and to come to her. Actually, she didn´t have a clue he is at home, sitting just few metres far away from this big fire. He didn´t believe his ears!!! Fire??? He just answered: "Ok, I am immediately there!"  and cut the call. So many emotions again flooded his body. He didn´t know if this game is real or not, if something will  happen or not. He just knew he had to survive and had to do his best to wake up tomorrow. The smell of ash was now everywhere, he came to know mom wasn´t telling him any lies. He packed some stuff and was thinking how to escape from here, how to escape his own fate. There wasn´t so much time to think about it for hours and his point was that he didn´t see himself dead in the flames, so maybe it is just some coinscidence and everything will be ok soon. He opened the door and saw the firemen running everywhere on the street. He didn´t care what had happened there, he was extremely focused just on his plan. To rescue himself, he must get into the car, then everything will be ok. He crossed the street succsefully and opened the door of his car. He sat down and almost didn´t believe it - nothing happened. He was laughing in his luxurious car like insane. All the stress was gone, he started the car and soon he was in the part of the city where his mom lived. He felt so free and happy. He got out of the car, passed some dirty boy and was walking on the street. The boy came back to him and asked him for some money. Firstly he was about to ignore him but since his mood was better, he just answered: "Well, you have no idea what all happened to me today, so I am really not in a mood to give away money now." Such arrogant attitude made the boy who was drug addicted absolutely mad. The boy was holding the knife he was hiding in his pocket and unpredictably started atacking on him as if he was absolutely freaky. The boy hit his belly, heart and suddenly in some minutes … he was laying there dead on the street. His soul was leaving his body and he found out that one can´t change their fate since it has been sealed, no matter how hard they try…

  • Caro, fully agree with u, thanx for comment ;)
  • I think fate is a fact that we can't change however, we shouldn't refer everything to fate in life. Fore example someone drives fast and when he makes an accident, he would say it's my fate.

Fate and destiny is behind our hands!

  • Jack, thanx for comment. Btw I commented back and realized I didnt post it :/ I like your ship quotation. Can u write a blog about your opinion on karma? It could be interesting for ppl who dont know so much about it ;)
  • Noas, yeah .. he was supposed to die, just he didnt know if he should believe it

    Beh, loool seriously?

Ohnie, thanx for your opinion. U know I was thinking the same way about fate like u. Anyway, lately I found out that some things are determined and we are unable to influence everything by our actions. We can't influence death, sometimes we cant influence our health situation, situation we might get into thanx to sth. unpredictable for instance some disaster - typhoon, eartquake, plane crush etc. We also cant influence where we will be born, if our parents will be rich or poor which will have effect on our future too.. It is simply good to be in good place at right time. Anyway, I considrr silly to say I didn't succeed in exam, it was my fate - this is sth we can of course influence as u mentioned above.
  • Nooo! It's not fair to say that fate dictates our lives.  We make mistakes, we get hurt, we love, we learn and err again because of the choices we make everyday.  Those choices we make don't just affect our lives but the lives of others around us and at the same time, the choices that others make affect our lives whether we like it or not.  If it all depends on fate, then what is the logic for living?  Why do we have to search for happiness if we are fated to suffer and die in a car wreck, a terrorist attack, war, or falling off the cliff, or suicide.  What's the point of fighting for justice and peace if wars are fated to be.  I do not contradict the fact that we're all gonna die one way or another.  People die in their sleep or sudden heart attack, babies die even before they're born.  Is that because they are fated to die that way at that time or there's something going on in their body that we just don't know or understand?  People die without any cause.  Just like we don't live without any reason.  We may not be able to escape death because it is meant to happen no matter what, but not because our life is scripted that what will happen is based on what's written in the script like when we eat, who we meet, who we kill, what will kill us, etc.  If everything depends on fate, then no one is at fault whether a person kills or rapes or steal because it is already written in the stars and fate cannot be changed.

I believe in free agency.  Each one of us is given the freedom to act for ourselves, whether right or wrong, it is our call to make.  But along with that agency comes accountability - that whatever we do, good or bad, there is a consequence...and that's something we can't escape.  We can't blame fate for the bad things that we face in our lives.  Some of those are self-inflicted, others are the results of our actions, while the rest are the results of other people's actions affecting our lives.  We are all connected to each other.  The things we do bounce back and forth and goes around us like a ball being passed and tossed around.  But then, this is all just my personal view, Luz.

I think the character in your story died of being stabbed not because he was meant to die like that but because he chose to be arrogant even in the end.  Had he been nicer, maybe the panhandler wouldn't have decided to stab him, but I know it's not an assurance.  But then again, the panhandler could have been more patient when the guy gave him a cold shoulder, but he used his free agency and still chose to stab the guy instead.  I am not justifying the killing, I am just merely explaining how both of them used their agency and how it affected their lives.  I believe in the Physics' Law of Motion - In every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.  And that's what I think happened here.  (^,^)

Thank you for writing an interesting plot.  Don't get tired of us.

  • It's like the 'Final Destination' series. Fate, in this case, death, will find you anywhere.

  • Pearl, thanx for reading it ;) don't waste your time on thinking about your fate since you can't change it. Better enjoy your life ;) I hope your fate will show you nice future in EC :D
