28 Hours a Day?

Blog, Cook, Read hundreds of books a year, be a full time university student, Work, Study English, Memorize English Articles, Exercise, Rest in Saturday, sit for other certificate and many other things.

I Get involved in many things but still can maintain leading result in campus and lead free and relaxed life every day.

Therefore, there are quite a lot of people ask me how to manage my time.

Because of that, I decided to write a series of posts based on how I manage time.

Today, let’s talk about three important tips on time-management.

Catch and kill all the thefts

Arg! Lucus is so cruel? Do not get me wrong. The thefts here are actually theft of time

Spend a few minutes thinking if you have spent your times on things that cannot create any benefits or improve your well-being. I am sure there are. By killing those thefts, you can save at least two hours a day.

It may be hard to catch all those thefts at once, as some of them are good at hiding. Therefore, you have to be patient.

There are a lot of these types of examples. I will show you two of them.

I was used to having lunch and chatting with my friends after class to relax myself and collect important info. Usually this type of lunch can spend us more than one hour.

After a few months, I find that I can collect all the important info by just studying with them. Eating lunch with friends actually does not have good effect of entertainment. For then now, I seldom eat lunch with friends. This can save me up for at least 5 hours a week. Those five hours can be spent on more relaxing activities and more productive studying.

Here is the second example. I always bring along a laptop to school, so that I can get online materials, look up for dictionary efficiently and listen to classical music while studying. After a few weeks, I found that this can not really improve efficiency; instead it is a big theft of time, as if I have a laptop with me, I will watch Facebook and other websites again and again. This will eat into my studying hours.

10 Minutes make your life different

If there is not a time table in a secondary school, students learn what they want to learn. Teachers teach what they want to teach. At the end, will students be good at any particular aspects? I am sure they won’t.

Time table is important. You can make your life different by just spending 10 minutes planning your time every morning.

Sleep at workplaces or schools

Our attention is decreasing in the afternoon, because of using too much brain in the morning. Then, our efficiency will go down. To this I suggest finding a good and big sit and sleep on it for 30 minutes in the afternoon. This can help you focus better for the whole day.

At the end, I hope you can share how you spend your time wisely with us and leave a comment to tell me your opinion on this post. Your comments are appreciated.

Thank you so much

  • Time is something that requires organization. In fact I usually lose some precious time doing things that are not so necessary, but I'm trying to organize myself better. Nice post, Lucus!

  • Dear Monika,

I agree with you having two children can really eat into your time.

I think it is very hard to have a balance between working, family, and yourselves.

However, if we think from the other angle, it is also a good reason to learn to manage time.

  • Congratulations Lucus, it´s a very interesting blog, how can I manage my time??

Well, I must admit I´m not an organized person; when I started to work, I was more organized, I used Microsoft Outlook to plan my day, to record information, to remember key dates, person´s birthdays, etc.

It´s time to retake this good habit, thanks for remember this Lucus...

    Have a nice day...
