  • Hi Lucy,
All three are important , and they are the most sacred sites of Islam.... and all Muslims have to visit them if they can for worship,
because prayers in these mosques have high value and a great reward
Al-Aqsa Mosque is the first Qiblah ( direction of prayer.)., and it is the second oldest mosque in Islam after the Ka'ba in Mecca, and is third in holiness and importance after the mosques in Mecca and Medina. ..... .The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taken on the Night Journey (isra’) to Bayt Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), where he led the Prophets in prayer in this blessed mosque. Allah says: “Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Haram) to the farthest Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Aqsa), whose precincts We did bless, in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things).” (al-Isra’: 1)

Al-Masjid al-Haram, also known as the 'Sacred Mosque', is undoubtedly the biggest attraction of Saudi Arabia. The largest mosque in Islamic world, Al-Masjid al-Haram, Mecca is a must-visit religious center for all Muslims.

Situated in the holy city of Mecca, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia, Al-Masjid al-Haram is simply matchless in magnificence. Sprawling across an area of 356,800 square meters, the Al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca is capable of accommodating more than 820,000 pilgrims.

As per the Five Pillars of Islam, all Muslims are expected to make a Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime, given that they are in good health and can afford the same. The Al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca is the mosque where Hajjis end their pilgrimage and pay respects to the almighty.

The Al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca surrounds the Kaaba and Black Stone, the place to which all Muslims turn to during prayer time. In Islam, the Kaaba is also regarded as the holiest place on earth. Thus, the Al-Masjid al-Haram is the most important structure for Muslims around the world.

Al Masjid al Nabawi in Saudi Arabia

One of the most important symbols of the Islamic Religion of Saudi Arabia, Al-Masjid al-Nabawi located in Madina is considered to be the world's second holiest mosque. The final resting place of Prophet Muhammad, the oft visited Al-Masjid al-Nabawi in Saudi Arabia has become one of the chief Tourist Attractions of Saudi Arabia.
Al-Masjid al-Nabawi at Saudi Arabia in Asia was built by the Prophet himself, and raised up to its present stature, by later Islamic rulers. This important mosque was once home to Prophet Muhammad. Later, the mosque was also used as a center for religious instruction and even as a center for the entire community. A land mark in the rich Culture of Saudi Arabia, the mosque now houses several extensive prayer areas, to enable followers of the faith world wide, to come here and pray.

Situated in the heart of the holy city of Madina, you can distinguish Al-Masjid al-Nabawi in Saudi Arabia by its famous green dome, that's known as the Dome of the Prophet. The architectural plan of this edifice has been used for building mosques in every part of the world. Thus, the mosque is a must visit for all those interested in the Architecture of Saudi Arabia.

Being one of the important Provinces of Saudi Arabia, Al-Madina, where the mosque is located, can be visited from any part of the country. The site of the mosque is accessible by air, bus, train and other means of transportation

Abu Hurayrah (ra) relates that the Prophet (saw) said, “You should not undertake a special journey to visit any place other than the following three Masjids with the expectations of getting greater reward: the Sacred Masjid of Makkah (Ka’bah), this Masjid of mine (the Prophet’s Masjid in Madinah), and Masjid Al-Aqsa (of Jerusalem)”.
