In my country we also have dandelions. But are weeds, amid green grass, so the fight with insecticides in gardens. Actually, we use the leaves of dandelion (diente de leon) in salads, and some people use them as dandelion tea . :)
The Dandelion I think is a plant that every child plays with if they see one. Which country? I would guess that dandelion is a name that would translate into your language.
