Have you ever had a penpal?

Hi This is the first time I write a blog, I have never done this before so I 'm sorry if my blog isn't interesting or something :D because this is my very first time. I'm not a blogger not a good writter either, I'm just sharing what I thoughts in my mind :) OK here we go :)

Do you have a penpal from another country? yes an old fashioned penpal through letter? I do have penpals. I and my penpals like to send letter through post office, and sometimes we exchange small gift as well such as keychain, magnet, sticker, and so on, last time I sent a book too to my penpal. I've been penpalling since I was in high school. At the time I was really interested to have a penpal from another country, because when my mom was in high school (very long time ago), she has penpals from another country too, they knew each other from magazine. They used to send letter each other or even small gift exchange. Now my mom and her penpals are still keep in touch, but not by letter anymore but by Skype or email, but sometimes they do send letter each other anymore like they used to do.

My very first penpal is from England we knew each other from my friend because she's my friend's penpal as well, and we still keep in touch until now :) sometimes we send letter or gift each other again, or just having conversation at Skype and so on. First time I received letter from my penpal was in 2006, I was really exicted at the time because that was the first time ever I received something from another country directly from the postman :) I sent her letter back and it took about 3 weeks from here to get there :) that's really fun :) besides from England, I also have penpal from Finland, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, Romania, USA and Hungary. We've been friends for over years and we do still keep in touch until now. (either through letter or email)

We know that today, with technology, distance means nothing. I mean we can have friend from another country by chatting, social media, or talk at Skype and so on. But for me, an old fashioned penpal (by sending letter through post office) is always interesting. Because I do like writting (written hand), secondly sometimes I do collect stamps as well from the letter I receive :) and also I do like small gift exchange :)  I have exchanged some bigger gift as well such as books, or calendar with my penpals. Having penpals who live far away from my home is always special to me :) although distance seperates us, but when I receive something on my post box, and open it, I feel like really close to them. These are some postcards from my penpals who I've been friends with for years. These postcards are from my penpals from USA, Romania, Germany, Finland and Czech Republic.

and this one from my penpal from St. Petersburg Russia (her name is Evgenia), she sent me magnet as well. This one is from Sari, she's from Finland, she sent nice stamps and a keychain

It usually takes few weeks to send a letter from my country to their countries, adding more stamps doesn't mean your letter will come faster, but that's the fun, it's called Snail Mail. Snail Mail is always fun to me :) besides making friends, we can also learn their culture, and feel closer to them because they write something to me.

I have never met with my penpals in real life but we I hope I will meet them someday, they also have said the same thing, we actually have talked face to face through Skype, but I hope I can meet them directly someday for coffee or just hang out. How about you? have you ever had a penpal? what kind of gift that you like to exchange with your penpal? and how long you have been penpalling? :)

OK thank you so much for reading my very simple blog. I hope you're having a good day! :)
