Life is too short to be little

" Life is too short to be little. " Indeed, as we get older, we realize more that there is an end in life . No matter how bad the situation you are in, time moves on. It does not stop to wait for you to wake up and enjoy your life.
I used to be pessimistic and have no self-confidence. I blamed every bad luck on others. I can easily find fault with everyone I meet and wonder why I can't meet somebody good enough.
Over the past three years, I've realized that no one is perfect. It's impossible to find a perfect person! So there is nothing particular if your husband, friends, or kids are wrong.
I learned that "love" and " peace" are the key to live a happy life. I learned what true love is from Bible. You have to keep no records of wrongs. Always be kind and patient.
Focusing on what you want to be and not dwell on others' faults. Forgive yourself and others. Let love grow in our heart. Then peace and joy are not far!

Winter solstice

Today is winter solstice in the north hemisphere.  It is the day with  the shortest daytime of the year. We eat rice balls which are made of sticy rice in Taiwan on winter solstice.  After eating the rice balls, you are added one year to your age. Children like rice balls a lot because they are usually cooked as sweat soup. I like the tradition because it is a symbol of family union, too. All family members get together with steaming rice balls soup on dinner table in the cold day. Sweat in the mouth as well as in the heart!

Cherish each day as a gift

Cherish each day as a gift.  Use it wisely. The most important thing is never  let any negative thought or feeling beat you.  We may choose to refuse being unhappy or sad.  Just move forward. Pursue your dream. As 2014 is around the corner, I wish everyone a happy, optimistic, and healthy  life.

Good sayings----Active Listening

Active listening is watching closely and listening carefully.

In my experience, one needs to be calm first then he or she can focus on others instead of himself or herself. If there is something bothering me, I will easily think of myself and not pay attention to what other people say.

Active listening is important if we want to help other people. Only when you concentrate on others, care about others can you listen actively.  It needs practice to listen actively. By watching closely and listening  carefully, you will find out what the guy you are talking to really want to express. And thus you can meet his needs.

appreciation

I went to Mosburger for a cup of coffee yesterday. When the clerk gave me the coffee, I tried to look into her eyes and said "thank you" to her sincerely. Surprisingly, I suddenly realized I never REALLY thank anyone who serviced me before. I do little for the whole world, but I count on others so much to survive on Earth.

Appreciating others' help makes my heart softer. It changes the way I see the world. I know how lucky I am to have so much. Now I sincerely thank anyone whom I met with.  Because of them, the world becomes so nice to me.  Of course, I thank all you guys in English Club, too. Because of you, I can practice English on the Net. Thanks again.

As everyone knows, fish is much better than meat for health reason. Eating small fish is even better than eating large fish such as salmon, cod, tuna, ect. because there is likely more heavy metal in such large fish.  Smaller fish are also more in amount. It is unlikely to make them extinct.

However, it is reported that the amount of small fish is decreasing. And the size of fish caught is smaller, too. This means that most fish are unable to grow up. They are caught when they are still babies or youngsters. If human beings don't change the way they eat and the way they catch fish, it is possible that there won't be any fish in the ocean. Then, there will  be no fish to eat in the future.

So, eating small fish is not enough!  It might be a good idea to be a vegetarian sometimes.

Forgive yourself

I've been blue since childhood. I never know why I am always depressed until my teacher said," Forgive others; forgive yourself, too. Just do your best."  a couple of days ago.

That's right! Don't always just think I'm not good enough. As long as I try my best today, it's alright I'm not perfect now. Most important of all, I will be better tomorrow.

To my surprised, when I can forgive myself, I can forgive others, too.  I have a softer heart. Sometimes I can feel others' pain.

As we open the window, the sunshine will come in!

Stay in learning mode

It's important to keep in learning mode whenever it is and whereever you are. Have an open mind!  People are inclined to complain if they encounter difficulties or suffer something. That is not helpful at all. Switch the channel from complaining to learning mode!  Learning from the difficulties, the sufferings, and other people ( no matter you like or hate).

Try to be optimistic about anything. Always ask ourselves that what I can learn from the situation( good or bad). Your world will change by doing so------that's what I have learned recently.
