Introducing myself

Hi,

I'm a native English speaker with an eventful life.

I was born in Kenya, was educated there in English schools by English teachers.

My mother was an English teacher, who taught non-English speakers in Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

After leaving school, I joined an international firm of auditors and accountants in Nairobi, where I worked for four years before moving to Zimbabwe and working for the same firm for another two years. I then emigrated to the UK, where I worked for several small auditors and accountants as well as a large international fruit business.

I then travelled around western Europe for about two and a half years in a small campervan which friends helped me outfit. Whilst travelling, I worked on farms, in factories, building sites and oil refineries.

On my return to the UK, I worked in a quarry for two years, starting as a labourer and progressing to being the assistant manager. After this, I emigrated to South Africa.

In South Africa, I worked in software support for three years, two of which were with the international firm of accountants that I first started with. For the next 30 years, I worked for myself training people on, and supporting accounting programs. I wrote all my own training manuals.

I left South Africa three years ago, and I now live in Bulgaria, where I have been teaching English part-time in a private English language school for two years.
