  • A couple of years ago I took FCE (it stands for First Cetificate in English) and it was the listening section of the exam that I didnt pass, although the other parts (writing, speaking and reading) were far better. After that I realized that my listening skill left much to be desired. To become better at it I have been listening to diverse audio stuffs (such as podcasts, radio, etc.) at least 3-4 hours a day every day, with my headphones pluged in. Looking back at my background I dare say that the ability to pronounce ALL English sounds correctly (as close to the native speakers as possible) is a key to successful command of speaking as well as listening.
