  • Top secret but I am using my Nike name which is applying in my life
  • I am using the initials of my real name as my ID.

  • A good question! I agree with Tanya... 4 me, I always use my real name everywhere cuz I really love my name and there is no other name which is nicer more than mine in my eyes :-) It doesn't mean I'm selfish, just mean I love my name, it has a wonderful meaning (Fahime, an Arabic name means a knowledgeable or wise girl) so it leaves me with no options 2 choose a nickname... ;-)

  • BTW, "Lynne" is my real nickname. Maybe later, I will consider using another name. ^_^
    Thanks for the nice topic.

There are a lot of reasons Salem but, some sites really advise the members to use another name. So, they are simply following instructions. I realy think, this is a common practice, Salem. But, I think whatever name we use doesn't really make a difference because wherever we go we will find people who has got the same name as ours.
    Interesting question, Salem.
    Good luck!

  • Well! It is an interesting question. Some people may dislike their names like Tuleen, others might not like to be recognized or would like to sound cool or would like thier nicks to represent them somehow. There are many reasons for using nicks. As to me, I prefer to use my true name unless there is a need to use a nick, like on Skype. I think it is own business of any person what name to use on such sites like EC, Facebook , etc. A name doesn't change a person. So, what is a difference? Here is one Russian proverb: "Call me a pot but don't set me into the oven". I believe its meaning is clear. Any name doesn't characterize a person. It is essence that does.
    • You heard stolen identity?Perhaps this is one reason

      regards

  • ok. For me, I use my nickname which is Skoon Al-Bahr even though most members here know my real name which is Toleen. The reason for using Skoon instant of Toleen is that I love Skoon more than Toleen heheh. Even in my real life, I use Skoon in all my notebooks, books, ... etc, so that makes all people I surrounded by know that I'm Skoon even my teachers. and they keep calling me by my nickname; Skoon.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful discussion.
