I think that you have a social character , that helps you to deal with all kinds of people ...
it is good thing to be shy when you talk to girls " the other sex " .
Thats requird , to help making real and honest relationships , but that does not mean to avoid tham at all , just be little shy and do not let it limit you to deal with all girls ..

I think that being social requires to talk to all kind of people , not your friends or close people who you grew up between them ... Sorry to say that you need to be more social and try to talk to others freely ..
