Look at this picture isn't it a very wonderful scenery? Why do some people in Romania draw the cross while they're passing in front of this castle? The power of symbols did that! It comes down to redirecting your unconscious mind. On the surface, you know your fear of symbols is illogical. But it has persisted because your subconscious has attached the idea of symbolism to all those negative emotions.This castle is the castle of Dracula himself according to the legend. The power of legends and symbol made us afraid of many things.I remeber when i was child,There was a house .Many people believed this is a haunted house.Until now no one live in it.This is by the symbol power!Which things made you feel afraid by the power of symbols?

I remember when I was a kid I was always looking at the sky to find a shiny object. I thought thoes shiny objects are alien's space shuttle and when I thought i was going to see an alien, I terrified. I also read some news about aliens and if there is other creatures in other planets or not. So, in thoes magazines, scientists wrote that they usually recieved some signals from other planets and so on and these kinds of articles attracted me and horrified me.
But, i believe despite this fact, when i was a kid, i was so brave because i was not afraid of any animals or any dangerous situations. I went hunting and fishing with my dad who was a professional hunter and fisher. But gradually, my fears have changed to something else. Right now, even a simple thing like a steep may cause me to be afraid of, which i try to fight with such feelings and whenever i want to be afraid, i say to myself: "only be afraid of fear"

i was myself afraid of darkness ;i was afraid of shadows,thieves and evil spirits even when i looked out of my window opening toward our own yard.but i got rid of it just by trusting my God.
mostly my fears are caused by horror movies and by terrible stories i hear from my friends or others.i used to be afraid of jinns.when i watched the film "Ring",my terror was increased but after some time as i grew up i came to understand that evil jinns don't interfere with our world if we don't interfere with their world.God is keeping us from their bad effects.so my fears all disappeared.but still some words and stories cause this fear to become alive again.when i saw some shows about Satanic cults this fear of Satan as a jinn overcame me so that my life changed to be a disaster but the passage of time and trust in God helped me recover.
i think our mind is so sensitive to words by others.thus we should be careful not to let bad ideas causing horrors stick to our mind.we should immediately remove bad thoughts so that we can be logical;otherwise these thoughts gain control of us so that we will be paralysed.we go wherever our thoughts take us.
sometimes we are afraid of sth because unintentionally our mind tries to avoid probable dangers.so fear to some extend is inevitable but it must not last for too long.
thanks God i have Him to help me calm down when i am afraid of His creatures and when i am afraid of His creatures' creatures (like wrong thoughts caused by men)
have a nice time all in peace and away from any kinds of worldly fears:)

Yes the fear of symbols make a lot of people do that.I remeber a friend of me was afraid of dogs ,when he was a little boy, his mother told him that the dog is the devil himself.Now he knew this is not true but he still hate to see dogs.thanks for sharing your fears.

really?you are afraid of lizards!but i love them (keeping my distance from them!);they are very useful creatures;they catch insects like cockroaches and flies which irritate us if their number is not controlled.
