  • Here is mine :D

But haha! It's funny! a miserable voice! :P

    • My dear Camelia, your voice is really beautiful, and you have narrated the story very lively. Your intonations are so good. But, I think you have recorded your voice in a noisy place, am I right?

The recording was not clear enough. But I could detect the rise and fall of your voice, I mean the intonations. Actually, I could not detect the exact words of the passage because of the noise I mentioned. Would you please read to us once again?

      Thanks so much

      :)

    • You're welcome Zahra! I'll do it next time, and you're right, there is a noise around, that's why it's no clear! :(

Thanks to you not me, because I did nothing :)

    • PS- I have added a new recording to my discussion. I read a few lines of the original book. Actually it is midnight over here; thus the volume of my voice is low!

    • Hehehe.. you're whispering! your voice is very lovely!

  • The story in my book is different from what you've read Zahra! :(

Nice reading by the way, your English pronunciation is really good!

    • Dear Camelia, thank you so much for the note.

Actually, the book I am reading from is abridged and simplified by Nigel Grimshaw.

The book is entitled "Longman Structural Readers:Fiction Stage 3

      David Copperfield

      Charles Dickens

abridged and simplified by Nigel Grimshaw".

So I am gonna revise the title of the discussion here.

Thank you so much, dear Camelia.

I have found a link to the original book. So we can start a workshop together and read from the same book. What is your idea? Agree?

    • How about reading one page of the link I proposed per record?

    • My book is more simple than that page dear Zarha, I just wanna try a short paragraph from my book, agreed?

    • Sure.

I went through the first page of the first chapter presented in that link. I found it so different from my own summary. I love this original one far more.

It is more fun to read the original one; since its vivid descriptions and ironic statements make the book more attractive and enjoyable.

The original one can be read smoothly; yet, I have to look up quite a lot of words, if I wanna fully understand the text word by word. Otherwise, skipping the difficult words and guessing their meanings, it is enjoyable to read the original text. But to read it loud, I have to check  pronunciations of all the words I am not familiar with.
