  • I'm glad to have a friend from Thailand, Thanks for the request.

  • I always did like Neil Young from my first days in University.  His music is always changing as the times change.  You may find some you don't like as much as others, but he is usually very good to listen to for studying English. Learning a song and singing it is a very effective way to learn a language.  You can probably remember every song you learned as a child because music uses both sides of the brain. The English alphabet song is a very good example.

  • i like your small poem.do you have any other poem.

  • Hi Soraida.  You asked a good question about articles. Articles confuse most people because in English we have two types. You have to decide if you are talking about mountains (all mountains) or about the mountains, which are in a certain place or country.

If we talk about mountains, lamp posts, and rain, we are generally talking about all mountains, lamp posts, and rain. If I hear the rain I am probably talking about rain that is falling near me and not all rain that has ever fallen on earth. The is the definite article which means this rain, this school or this lamp post.

The lamp posts are green would be different from lamp posts in general. Example without the definite article: Lamp posts have lamps so we can see at night is not using an article so it refers to all lamp posts. If your poem is about all mountains, all lamp posts and all rain, you don't need the. If the poem is about these things in a certain place or time, you may need to use the.

If we are talking about one countable noun like a pencil or an orange, we use indefinite articles (a or an). Give me a pencil (any pencil). Give me the pencil (we are asking for a certain pencil). If I can see your translation I will help you.

  • I liked the poem. Thanks for telling me about it Soraida. It was nice to have it to read as the typhoon was finishing its rain here.
