Do you know the Spring Festival?The Spring festival is the most important festival to chinese people all over the world.it is from 1st January to 15th January of chinese lunar calendar.people always get together and have a big reunion with their families or freinds.they are talking,having delicious food and enjoying the time.about the spring festival,there was a legend.the spring festival has another name"nian"in chinese character which means a horrible beast.it feared the fireworks and the red things.so people always hang on "good luck"on the paper on the door and use fireworks to combat the beast.this tradition in many ways resemble the Western belief of using garlic and crosses to fight vampire.this year is the Year of Rabbit?why chinese use animal to stand for this year?The Chinese zodiac features 12 animals in the sequence of Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each animal represents a different "personality". just like the astrological signs stand for different personality.the spring festival of 2011 will be on 2nd February,next wednesday.in the evening of that day,people lights the fireworks and firecrackers to celebrate the coming of new year.what a wonderful picture! i can't wait for it.Happy Chinese New Year!
