  • Hi Abdullah, How nice you joined us to improve your English! Thanks!

A tip: when you use "wanna", don't use "to" after it. Use: "I wanna improve my language...".

  • Thanks Tara!
As you know, I maintain other social networks too: Twitter, Facebook, Ning, Sonico, and I think there are more =) but the only one I use to talk in English (and to teach) all the time is MyEC.
Although I'm not an online teacher, here I have the chance to teach by posting something which may be useful to someone who will learn more about the language. I agree with you... in my opinion the nets are the future of English learning. We just have to explore it and adapt our classes. Sts love inovation and practical things, so let's use it even more teachers!
  • I use social networks with online learners from all over the world. For example, here on MyEC I write monthly writing challenges. My dream is that teachers all over the world will do what Joyce is doing. Students can use my writing topics to write a blog and practise English. Teachers can find inspiration for class. I also maintain the Facebook and Twitter profiles for EnglishClub.com. These networks are a great way to help learners who do not have a real classroom to go to. On Twitter, we share links that are of interest to English learners. Here is a simple Twitter guide for English learners. On Facebook we ask questions to get friends talking. A simple question like "If you were a colour, what colour would you be?" receives up to 100 comments from learners all over the world. Social networks are the future of English learning. Please join Joyce and invite your students to MyEC!

I prepared slides about them and took to class, showing the most commom ones here in Brazil, how we can use them, and then introduced MyEC to my students. So, they had to sign in this website and try to communicate with other people. Since then, I've observed them here, how they talk in English, things…
