The Definitions Of Hand Gestures Around The World

Hello my EC's friends! I'm very curious about other cultures...and "How should we use our hands properly?", it's an interesting topic! What is this video saying is true in your country? I'll be very happy if you can share your opinion with me!
Thanks...and see you!

Hi, Robbie!

I really appreciated your comment... Very interesting the using of the downward hands approach in Philippines! Here in Brasil that gesture is useful when we need to ask someone to calm down, or just speak a little lower...

About the way to call the dogs and to wish for good luck to someone, both of our countries use the same hands gesture!

Thank your for respond me! Have a great midweek, as well!

Hi, Nan!

Welcome to MyEC! I think it is important to learn the hand gestures whenever we visit other countries since hand gestures varies according to a country's customs and beliefs. The downward hand approach is common here in the Philippines when we're asking someone to come closer. The 'come here' approach, however, seems not common here when calling a dog. We usually call dogs by their names or through whistle if we do not know the dog's name.

The come here approach that I know though is when a wife calls his husband in a sexy or flirty way he he.  By the way, I sometimes cross my fingers when hoping for good luck and positive news.

Have a great midweek!
