°•● My listening and Speaking Tips ●•°

Those 2 important skills are inseperatable , listening always comes first before speaking skills even in our native languages . We can't speak unless we listen or hear the language at first hand as young toddlers .
Most English learners suffer from their inability to speak English or incorrectness of their way of articulating it's sounds in the right way . All these problems can be defeated by hard work , persistence and the gradual passing of time . It's nonsense to expect a non native to speak correct English in an environment where he / she hears no English at all . Small steps are big leaps in their situation as learners .

1/ try to learn some of the the English phonetics , how sounds of English letters are produced this is an essential step toward good English speaking . It might be difficult to learn phonics but at least you should know the basics of it .
English sounds are mostly produced between the upper and lower teeth . Unlike arabic my native language where most sounds comes deeply from the throat .

2/the scripts of English letters differ alot from their sounds , phonics show you through symbols how to utter letters and English sounds in the right way
It's good to know some of phonics .

3/ the youtube is full of countless English materials , go their and listen to music , movies , documentaries , news and mornings shows .

4/ listen to the material as a whole , understand the general idea of the English materials and start with simple things that match your English level.

5/ download a recording program from the app store . Start the Fun listen and imitate what you hear and try your best to be accurate . Make it a daily habit , you can make your own videos and post them here as most members do .

5/ find an online serious partner to help you cause most people aren't that into learning type , they are killing their time only .
Find a learning partner from here or any other languages learning apps or sites like Speaky for instance . However , I perfer if you can pay for an online tutor it would be more beneficial for you , sites like italki / verbling and cambly can offer you such services with an offordable amount of money .

6 / talk , talk and talk with or without making mistakes don't be shy have fun while speaking . It's your mistakes that improve your learning level

7/ We can't learn languages as we learn or study other subjects languages are living things they are sounds produced by human beings . Many students are the best in grammar and vocabulary Nonetheless , the fail horribly to communicate in English , that is because they didn't try to learn it as a language or use it in their daily life . On the other hand we can find people who are perfect in communication due to certain circumstances that mingle them with people who talk English or because their passion toward languages in general .
Best of luck :)

Nowadays, we don't have much trouble with pronunciation, I would suggest. There are a lot of English dictionary with its pronunciation of each word, even offline apps.

When we read something, we should try to read them a bit louder as our ears can hear. This is my practice actually. Listening music would work best. And, I agree with you, there are many things that we can learn from YouTube, it's double learning, both English and other things.

Talking with friends at least can help us to kill the fear of talking.

Thank you for writing, Rosemary. :)
