Writing Challenge: A News Report

Hi bloggers and everyone who likes writing. :)

I’m sure all of you know what passive voice is. Passive voice can change the focus of interest by placing the object at the beginning of the sentence. Subjects are often omitted in the sentence as they are usually unimportant, unknown, or obvious.

Passive voice is commonly used in news report. Hence, for practicing the passive, I challenge you to write a news report. :)

Here is your…

Luci's Halloween Challenge: My horror Story: The Sneak Attack!

It was a normal beautiful day and Roman the Clumsy Squirrel was getting ready to do his squirrel things (collecting nuts, reading EC blogs, etc). Nobody ever expects that anything bad could happen in a sunny autumn morning because all the horror things happen at night, during a storm, or on election days. So, there was Roman the Clumsy Squirrel feeling confident and safe: -"It is a very bright and nice day! Nothing bad can happen to me!*humming while…

Danny's Challenge: Let's Travel in Time

If I could travel back in time I'd like to go to France in the year of 1906 and the United States in the year of 1903.Then,could you ask: what encourages me to wish to visit these countries in the last century? I readily answer you: find out the historical truth!

Most of you cannot know that between these years there were several little-known scientists trying out flying in equipments heavier than air, that is to say, there…

Danny's challenge. Expulsion of Non Christians in Spain.

When I was a child, history was not my strong point and never had high marks, however in my adulthood it's becoming so interesting. Curious, right? :D at least never is too late to learn.

Well, if I could travel back in time I'd choose the year 1492. In this year happened not only the event I guess all we know but also the expulsion of Jews and Arabics in Spain. This time was turbulent and so rough here and I think that laws which were settled in this year paved the way to the future… Continue

Blog Challenge: Sentence Structure

Yes, it makes sense to know sentence structure since a blog or an article is made of sentences - only when you can make sentences can you compose a piece of writing.

Indeed, there are just 4 types of sentences: simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, compound-complex sentence. For…

Some Contribution to My New Challenge

My friends, I have written my story to demonsrate the use of idioms. It is a true story. Enjoy and learn!

Well, I often run myself into the ground overworking and taking to heart what isn’t worth a bean. But about 3 years ago I decided to reward myself and bought a very good expensive car I had always dreamt about. It was just an ordinary spring day I will never forget, it was already hot and rainy and I decided to get to work by my new car I was still running in. It was…

Writing Challenge: A Spring Fairy Tale

My dear friends, I do know many of you live in the tropical zone and have seen different seasons on TV only. But just imagine that nature goes to sleep for a few months. There is no greenness, no flowers, no bird singing. There are just naked trees and snowdrifts all around. Nature is resting to wake up one day. And just imagine how great it is to see its rebirth! Nature feels…

On My Blog: Magic Pills

Well, most of my EC friends know that I am a chemist and when it comes to inventions I will speak about chemistry as it is my GODESS! My students often ask me why I don't invent some magic pills for them not to learn, but to take such pills before going to bed and to wake up being as knowledgeble as their teachers. I always say they can compose them themselves if they learn at least a little. But today I'd like to speak about some other magic pills we all need to take from time to…
