Thanksgiving in the Southern U.S. often is celebrated with Pumpkin Pie or Pecan Pie in addition to the Turkey and dressing. I like both (I prefer pumpkin over pecan) and thought this recipe was perfect to combine traditional Thanksgiving items in a new way. This cake is excellent Junco ; the dark chocolate icing combines perfectly with the pumpkin and the pecans. But it is not a traditional sweet since it is a new modern recipe.
Why oh why that a perfectly perfect pecan cake had to be "ruined" by chocolate??????? LOL. Hahaha.. as you can see, I don't like chocolate, so for me, a pecan cake is just perfect as it is.
