'Lepat Pisang' for Tim New and Narizawa

A few weeks ago, I was talking about 'lepat pisang' to Tim New and Narizawa. 'Lepat pisang' is a mashed banana mixed with wheat flour and wrapped with banana leaf. To cook it, simply steam it. It may not look too good, blamed it to the photographer and not the person who cooked this food, but trust me, 'lepat pisang' is yummy. LOL

  • Hi me_pepper, so we have similar food :-)

  • Oh my...U have not tasted that....Its more tastier and my favourite sweet...Yes its as sweet as u....

  • Hi Bala, yeah.. make it something of like a mixture of dough and barter. Dough is too hard, but barter is too soft. LOL. I've googled the image of gulab jamoon. I don't think I've taste it.

  • U mean we need to make a dough with banana and wheat flour, like how we prepare to make roti or gulab jamoon...Hei u kno gulab jamoon ??

  • Bala, you may add sugar if you want, but ripe banana itself is already sweet. It's very easy to prepare.

    1. Mash the banana, no need to make it too fine.

    2. Add some wheat flour and water, according to your instinct. LOL. Don't put the flour too much, otherwise it will be very hard. And don't put the water too much, otherwise it's too soft.

    3. Some people may add some coconut milk. It's optional.

    4. Put inside a banana leaf, and wrap it.

    5. Put it in a steamer, and let it cook

    6. Eat it. LOL.

    No ghee.

  • WMW .. well people in my dimension do cook their ripe banana ;-P. I don't know how your Dimensionelese do things over there, but I'm sure you've heard things like banana cake and such. Well, why you want to put some of the blame to the poor cook? I bought these from a night market, and I assure you, that seller was making a lot of these and make a ton of money of out them. So, I am sure that seller has a good cook. ;-p

  • Looking good....We dont have this here in India, so I dont know how to cook this....Do we need to add sugar and ghee to this ? Or how to prepare ? Its a sweety dish na?

  • Naripo, are you sure you're a Javanese? LOL

  • NAGASARI, i dunno..its just from javanese language..in java island we call it NOGOSARI, i've ever asked my grandma...she doesnt know..:p

  • Hi Naripo, I'm glad that you like it very much. So if the word 'Naga' doesn't meant 'Dragon', what's the meaning of Nagasari?
