A huge Ficus Benjamins tree

I took that photo in the Botanical Garden Kandy / Peradeniya - Sri Lanka The botanical garden in Kandy is an absolute highlight for all plant lovers. This tree is a huge Ficus Benjaminus, grown from one root, and it is probably the largest of its kind in the world.

      By summer 2011 this Ficus Benjamin was the largest tree in the world. It covered about 1500 m2 of floor space. Unfortunately, part of the tree has since died and had to be disposed of. I don't know how much is left of the tree.
