  • Here is the recipe:

    :
    You need for two servings:

    4-6 salted herrings fillets cut into mouth-perfect pieces
    1 small onion (cut into thin rings)
    1 large spice cucumber, or two small (sliced)
    Half peeled apple (sliced)
    Approx. 0.3 liters of sour cream
    A little milk or cream (when the sour cream is too thick)
    5 bay leaves
    8 Pimento grains
    Half a teaspoon of mustard seeds
    A pinch of pepper
    You do not need salt because the salted herring fillets give enough salt to the sour cream sauce.

    Preparation:
    Pour the sour cream into a bowl and mix with the spices.
    Then add all the other ingredients and mix. If the sour cream sauce is too thick, add some milk or cream.
    Place the bowl in the refrigerator until the next day (about 24 hours).
    Then the next day you only have to cook potatoes, mix the ingredients in the bowl again, and add some milk or cream (only if the sauce is still too thick).
