They were not scared of people walking by, but when they noticed, that I'm watching them and want to take photos they decided to leave.

Yes žanete, you are right. I should actually ask their permission, before taking photos of them. Not just shooting them with camera like some bad paparazzi. :)
Dodger, don't like to bee photographed.:)
Thank you Elen. ^_^Thank you for your comment Mr. Bob. Yes, seems like it's pretty common for birds to not like to be photographed. It has often hapen to me, that they are all fine until I take a camera out. Do they understand what a camera is and what I'm doing, or something?
Nice photo Hardi! I have taken similar photos with seagulls.
I have noticed the same with many kinds of birds here in Japan. They may continue what they are doing as long as you are moving like walking or riding a bicycle that is not coming close to them. I have tried to get photos of some and when I stop they seem worried and fly away. Sometimes being in a car doesn't bother them, but if I stop it or get out they leave quickly.
Poor stork! I always look with regret on those birds that arrive too early. I think many of them die of cold and hunger.
Hi Fizzy. It is usually standing one leg. Actually I think it can sleep while standing on one leg only.. Maybe I'm wrong? But I remember there was always a pair of storks nesting on top of windmill ruins near to our home. And I think there it was staying on one leg at late evening on top of it.. sleeping. At least I remember someone told me about it, either my older brother or mother.. How it can stay on one leg for long time, and what sound it makes, and what it eats and.. Weird that I still remember it, I must have been quite small then.. guess it was interesting to me.
My brother had a big feather of stork, or at least we thought it belonged to stork, since it was so big. I was so envious for it. I wanted one too. So I was going around eyes on ground, near the nest, hoping the bird would have dropped some big feather for me too.... I never found any.
PS. The sound it makes is just clatter that it produces by clattering its peak.
hardi, a question
Stork standing with one leg or two.. (^-^)? hehe
Thank you for your comment, Mickey. ^_^
Wow! Amazing moment!
